Imagine getting $1M a year for your sports programs (ahem ahem buy whatever player you want).

"The deal is not going to end up giving any Mater Dei athletes money directly, as high schools in California are prohibited from helping their students with name, image and likeness (NIL) deals. But this agreement will help Mater Dei enhance its athletic department in a way that few others have done."

Well some fun facts, a CEO of Trader Joe’s of many years went there but more importantly the former CEO of tinder and now yahoo are also alum as well. Wonder if Tom gets a discount, LOL. And by the way Tom’s Uncle Chris did something that many told him was career suicide.

Brother Chris along with a Sister(forgot her name) took this school Sacred Heart and the other Cathedral and merged. As we all know other schools followed over time.

While Br. Chris was the Principal, he called an emergency student body gathering in the old gym. He took the mic and laid into all the student body because we were behind/below the fund raising amount he set. He commented on the clothes and shoes that many of the students were wearing saying dont tell me you dont have any money.

Wow right? This guy is supposed to be holy and hes cursing at us and telling us to fork over more money. The lesson I took from this is, public school is the way to go!

I am not shocked, what shocks me is the athletic department has turned into low funds. Maybe his comments were out of control. But one thing is for sure, the athletic department is and has been a disaster at my alum. Quite pathetic to be honest
