Mater Dei in the spotlight again

Before we come to ANY conclusions, we must consult with MD and SJB, lawyer @ararar

He should be able to tell us immediately that there is ZERO evidence to support these allegations. Nothing to see here! :)

What an absolute sideshow in SoCal. I wonder what the MD host families think of this.

"A string of troubling revelations about the conduct of Mater Dei athletes emerged after the Bodies suit was filed, including a lawsuit first reported by the Orange County Register alleging that two football players broke a basketball player’s jaw at the behest of another student.

Older videos of Mater Dei football players in the locker room also began to circulate.

One 40-second video, originally posted to Snapchat, showed a throng of players standing in a circle in the locker room. They whooped and laughed as a shirtless player pulled down his shorts to moon them, then simulated a lap dance and an oral sex act on a clothed player sitting in a chair. The caption on the video read: “Miss Summer Ball.”

Another video contained a compilation of more than a dozen cellphone videos, set to a remix of Nicki Minaj’s “Boss Ass Bitch.” The videos included footage of a player throwing a T-shirt over his teammate’s head and tackling him, and two clips of players sitting on the toilet, including one taken with a phone that had been shoved under a bathroom stall door.

Jenkins told the Register just before his departure that both videos would be included in the law firm’s investigation of the athletics program."

WTF?! As with the Dave Chappelle debacle last week I anticipate the DA to drop all charges. We are in California people with homelessness and open public drug use not being policed why should this matter to the California penal system either? High School Football and California politics is a messy proposition! Money and Status is all that seems to matter to local governments in Cali these days. The kids that are going to Mater Dei, most of their parents have some sort of preferential status. Enough money from the right people this will be just a footnote at Unchecked Private High Schools. That is the bigger issue. Your Social Status can get you out of trouble most of the time. It's unfair but that is the world we live in. Case in point the article that came about not too long ago, during the High School Soccer season, where affluent kids and their parents in the Bay Area using racial slurs against a predominately Latin High School soccer program. The programs that are accused of doing this are in one of the most affluent areas in the Bay Area. There was a story and then it was gone! I suspect the same for this matter.

I am not thinking the parents of most Mater Dei players come from money and status.

when did homelessness become against the law?

just sounds like harmless banter and horseplay amongst a bunch of teenagers. Nothing to see here - quit being so soft like the leaders up north

Not only did Rollinson embarrass himself when his teams got continually whipped by DLS for 4 years in a row, he compounded it by years later deciding to load up on transfers and flout the rules so he could finally take out DLS.

Bruce Rollinson in NO WAY is close to Bob Ladouceur as a coach and has become somewhat of a laughing stock.

In college they would call this a lack of institutional control
Sounds familiar

In today's society everybody hates a winner. So the powers that be will do any & everything to destroy a winner like Mater Dei.

Masculinity is highly frowned upon and they are thriving by being one of the few schools that still value it.
