Yes. Yes. This is the 2nd Anderson to receive an offer.
Younger brother to LJ Anderson who just graduated from Moreau and signed to play DB at San Jose State.

Max is Over 3.0 GPA , first team All League DB, and will be starting his 3rd year on varsity in the fall...

Just won MVP for the MVAL basketball season
Good luck young man this should get the ball rolling

I see Stetson offers quite a few Norcal kids, they must be pretty active in the area.

Stetson coaches have been in the area for sure. It should be noted that Stetson does not offer football scholarships. This very loose of the term 'offered' to mean anything from a full scholarship at a D1 FBS school, to a PWO slot, to a zero dollar school admission by a progam that does not offer scholarships is confusing and misleading.

It's very hard to consider what Stetson presents as an 'offer' in a normal context. Stetson is similar to an Ivy in that no athletic scholarship money is available. Parents have to pay the amount determined by their financial aid application. The cost is >$60K for tuition + living expenses. And the kid has to qualify academically.

I wouldn't take the receipt of a Stetson 'offer' as a sign of anything beyond what it is. (The coaches like the kid, they think they may have a shot at the kid coming, and they think the kid can play there). It looks like Stetson uses a 'mass offer' approach hoping that a few will say 'yes'.

As a member of the Pioneer League, I assume Stetson offers are similar to USD. Although all FBS scholarships are required to be full ride, FCS scholarships can be anywhere from a full ride to a percentage. Cal Poly has some full rides and many around 80% Regardless, the most scholarships a fully funded FCS program can offer is the equivalent of 63 full scholarships, as opposed to the 85 full scholarships required in the FBS. Some FCS programs like Colgate have a total of 15 or so scholarships.

Is this because their a private school?

Yea, 4 Del Oro kids were offered by Stetson this week.

WR: Hurst, Guzman, and Smart
DE: Martinson.

Looks like they have to throw out a lot of #'s to stick. Stetson is on the wrong side of a lot of beatings from looking over there schedule the last few years. USD really loves when they show up that week. GO HATERS!!! I MEAN HATTERS.

Really thank you everyone. I have no idea about any of this. Just what other parents and kids run around saying. There is way too many rules.
I wanna see all top nor cal kids get free education.
So much talent out here

Promises from coaches and lies.

This family knows the ropes. Anyone having gone through the D1 recruiting process is savvy.

So what if his parents want him in a pay to play spot. Tons of D3 kids doing that.

Ya’ll wanna play, ya’ll gotta pay! Many FCS schollys are still outa pocket. Stetson, USD lat ya’ll play if you wanna pay, so ask whats it worth to ya?

does that make 5 for del oro? Closing in on folsom offer numbrs, or ya’ll sayin alabama diferent than stetson?

Lol. Yea, Alabama is a tad a better than Stetson. 5 so far but as you know, very few DO kids get offered by a D1 historically. That program is community, coaching, and kids who give a 100%. In the last 3 years, I can only think of 3 kids who were offered D1 and one of them dropped down to JC already. This year's crop are super talented.

Yeah DO is a great example of HS football at its finest. Just a lot of really good HS players mixed in with a few lower level college types. Throw in coaching and dedication and that is a good recipe for consistently strong teams. The reality is how many Norcal kids are going to head clear across country to play for a school nobody has heard of where parents are going to be footing some of the tab? And a place that has mosquitoes the size of birds and a cool day is 80 with 95% humidity? Go HATTERS!

Spot on.

One of the four Stetson offers got an offer from UC Davis yesterday. So looks like no mosquito bites for him.

Ya UCD program goin up, sounds like del oro has talent can they make it happen this yesr? Who da ags offer?

Hurst is the kid who got the UCD offer. His next older brother is at Cal Poly and the oldest was a walk on at UW.

Del Oro should be very good. The senior group is very talented and they’ve won at every level including against Folsom and the juniors are coming off a 9-1 JV campaign.

For sure, the coach is young and there have been some changes to some of the staff. He comes from the program so he knows how important the program is to the community but it may take some time to really master the craft.
