The updated maxpreps rankings just came out and I think my theory of "games being played on the court" is a lot more clear now.

St. Joseph's, who in my opinion, is one of the top 10 teams in Norcal(if they beat Salesian tomorrow, I say they are in the Open) are 30th in Norcal's maxpreps rankings behind:

1. Mitty
2. Pinewood
3. Carondelet
4. Miramonte
5. Salesian
6. Heritage
7. St. Mary's Stockton
8. Antelope

1. Bishop O'Dowd
2. McClatchy
3. Sacramento
4. Menlo School
5. Cardinal Newman
6. St. Patricks
7. Del Norte
8. San Ramon Valley
9. Folsom(not qualified)
10. Sequoia
11. Bear Creek(#1 Seed SJS Division 1)
12. Valley Christian
13. Enterprise
14. St. Francis - Mountain View
15. Palo Alto
16. St. Ignatius

1. Cosumnes Oaks
2. Montgomery
3. Presentation
4. California
5. Oak Ridge
6. ST. JOSEPH'S

One thing computer's have a hard time with is overlooking a bad league.

Looking at SJS D1, that is a big separation between Bear Creek and SMS in a game that I think should be competitive.

No way Del Norte goes 1. They’ll be a 1 seed in D4 and Cal is out

I would encourage you to reread my post. I feel there is a major problem with the Maxpreps rankings, which have been used in the past to seed teams. If the committee was to use them right now, I have listed how the teams are currently ranked.
