Not an AAU sanctioned tournament. Its their own private tournament.

I have friends in Georgia and their daughter has played in at least 4 AAU tournaments this summer.
At least on the boys side, there seems to have been games played before this tournament.
Maybe the fact it is more of a full fledged event is what is raising attention.

There has been basketball games with multiple teams from Sacramento, Chico, Reno and Bay Area in Yuba City every weekend this summer. High School and AAU boys and girls teams playing. Many of those same teams are in Idaho this weekend playing. NorCal Supreme Sports gym is hosting the games every weekend
it isnt any different than all the people going to the delta, beaches and city parks. Summer gonna Summer
Are these games being played outside? If not, that's a pretty important difference.
they are still within 6 feet. without mask. matter of fact they are all on top of each other. touching and feeling just as much as the players.
Everybody has to make their own choices about acceptable risk. Some people's choices are a little more scary than others, though.
