Mission wins SF Section title

Just did a little research on MaxPreps. They should be ranked roughly around 50.
If they take 8 for the Open and 16 for each division, it puts them smack in the middle of D 3.
I’m curious, if they are only using this year’s play to determine the rankings. Even if they do, subconsciously the board members will probably be seed the perennially programs higher.
Looks like University will be in D 1. They seem to be the biggest move in Divisions

What else would you base it on?Doubt they go back and take into consideration Lincoln beating Macateer in 85’ for this years seeding.

That would be much too high a jump for University. Maybe Division III. In the end, though, the Sunday CIF seeding meeting is going to be a grand exercise in subjectivity and educated (or uneducated) guesswork.

Pretty sure that I've read that previous year's result are also taken into consideration when seeding teams. The competitive equity seeding process is a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma. The selection committee has its work cut out for themselves - lots of teams to seed in single day. Will they have to rely on Maxpreps rankings which I've always found as hit n miss?

Yeah, thanks for input! Of course they don’t go back that far!! They used recent history as criteria to determine open teams. I think they considered the previous two years and current year

I would be surprised if Mission (based on last year's success and league title) doesnt draw a low seed in Open. As good as they are, they are not last year's team and could be exposed against good teams with solid post presence.

It would really surprise me if they were any higher than div. 3
They don’t have the guns to run with the likes of Sheldon, Salesian, heritage, Folsom CVC, Las Lomas and on and on. There best win is against Los Gatos.
