Modesto Christian continues to seek to the best competition even when it requires hectic travel as Coach Midgley prepares his team for a run at the "Open State Championship." After beating a league opponent on Friday night, the team was back up at 4am traveling to Sierra Canyon to play in the Sierra Canyon Super Showcase taking on SoCal power Cathedral. After mid day naps in the school vans and Subway sandwiches, MC beat a much-heralded Cathedral, 82-65 behind 6'10 Sr PF Robinson Idehen 21pts, 16rbnds and 6'2 Sr PG Christian Ellis 18pts, 7rbnds, 7assts. Idehen and Ellis are arguably the two top unsigned Seniors in NorCal.

I don't think Cathedral is heralded at all. MC is a top team however I would have used their average margin of victory or their wins over Jesuit and Mitty. Beating a under .500 Cathedral is not newsworthy.

I would definitely put Tre Finch of Folsom in the list of top unsigned seniors in Nor Cal, particularly after watching what he did in recent games v. St. Francis and Granite Bay.

Tre is on another page right now for some reason. Not sure where it came from but its nice to see him take this game serious.

Cathedral had a bit of a rough start to their season due to injuries and perhaps transfer eligibility, but they are not short on talent. They have 3 D-1 seniors on their roster, and a lot of size. Roster includes: 6'2" G Milan Acquaah -Washington State, 6'8'' F Daron Henson - Utah State, and 6'10" F Lucas Siewert, who has multiple offers including Arizona State. It was a nice win for Modesto Christian, and a great event with a number of college coaches in the stands. Idehen played fantastic.

TJ Leaf and Lonzo Ball both put on a show in the Foothills Christian and Chino Hills game. Those two can really play.

It would be interesting to see who's interested in Finch and where he ends up!!! Does he have any offers that anyone knows about?
