I've been meaning to comment on this for a couple days now but forgot about it.
People need to realize comparing a Prep School like Prolific, IMG, Findlay, Aspire, and many more to a let's say Bishop Gorman, De La Salle or Crossroads is like comparing apples to oranges Maybe Sierra Canyon could compete with those Prep Schools, but anybody else would be wiped off the floor.
Here's some quick numbers..

29-4 Simeon, IL 78-73- public school
35-2 university, FL 77-72- private school
I chose those 4 teams because they were mentioned. Of the 15 games they played vs public schools only 6 were blow outs, 6 were 10 points or less, and 3 were losses. You don't have to be a Prep academy to compete with one. To dig even deeper look at montverde. 37-0 Their closest games were roselle catholic(60-59), vs simeon(62-60), Bayside, FL(68-64), Findlay prep (69-67), Lone Peak, UT(87-82),Fairfax, CA (79-70) and dematha, MD (76-66). 1 prep academy, 2 catholic schools, 4 public schools.
Take what you want from all that, but if you want to find the true motivation for this rule, all you have to do is read the article heat posted. It has nothing to do with competitive advantages or the kids.
