I know it has been talked about a little on the boards but it has been beyond impressive how they have played since the departure of Jamari Phillips. Blasted Clovis West who will be an open team and blasted Liberty who just beat Harvard Westlake to win the Damien classic. I know they are talented and have a coaching staff that has won a lot of big games but I don’t think anyone seen this coming. Count me as one of the guys who thought the reign as best team in NorCal was over! Impressive!

Chemistry ! Something was off and they figured it out.
They still have tons of talent but yes when you lose a kid like Phillips it would have seemed hurtful. Nope.

Yup, they really came together, right after Jamari’s exit…. They played poorly in the first round of their tourney but eked out a win…. Word of said exit was made official during the day of their second-round game, and they played very well that night, and they improved further in each of the next two rounds to get the ‘ship.

The Crusaders are truly a team to be reckoned with now…

I knew after Coronado that with the return of Darius Smith and the addition of Rashod Cotton (freshman phenom) we were deep. I did not ever imagine Phillips exiting and leaving us to dry for Arizona. He might have been the best player, yet an argument that BJ Davis is cool as ice, is a better leader could be made. We still have no Manasse Itete or Kody Weary as they are injured. We are playing with 8 or 9 players the last ten games.
Jalen Brown has filled the Phillips slot and has dazzled us all. He can drive to the basket, dish and hit the 3. Jeremiah Bernard, Henoc Kabeya, Sam Smith who can start or come off the bench, have added physicality to a high skill set of ballers. Zeke Davis comes in quiet and confident just as his older brother has demonstrated true leadership on the court. We still have major games to play this month and as of right now we can beat just about anyone as long as Prince Oseya, is in the Game. He can do it all and has shown his moxy of late.
The case that a NorCal team can win the Open over the South might have a glimmer of light beaming from Sisk Road.

Count me in too. Sometimes it takes removing a potential distraction to get the boys locked in and focused on a common goal. Great to see MC rolling again.

Kudos to the kids and that well capable coaching staff for righting the ship.
Agreed. Sometimes we have a tendency to focus on who is not here rather than the kids who stayed and are getting it done. Congrats MC for hitting adversity straight on.
