Monterey Dismisses Head Coach

Including Lusk's son at QB on JV (I believe). Too bad Dad won't get to coach his son. From 2012 through 2014, the Toreadors were 14-4 in an A league. Perhaps seeing the writing on the wall, Newton turned over the reins to Brown. Monterey went 1-5 in the A league in 2015, and then 2-4 in a B league each of the next 2 years. In 2018, Lusk took over and Monterey went 6-0 in the B- league. Moved up the next year to the B+ league they went 2-4 in both 2019 and 2021. As both RLS13 and Prepwisdom said they had an impressive JV squad this year...somewhat undisciplined but loaded with talent. No reason Monterey's varsity can't be very good...as long as the players AND the parents are willing to listen and play for a disciplined coach.
