Go with your heart even if it means falling out of the running for the Pic'ems Power Sweep. Tell us who was Pic'n and grinning 4 years ago?..... 5 years ago?.....etc,etc? Sure you'll have a nice mimeographed Certificate of Congratulations signed by the Prince of Pic'ems, the Fox of Friday Night Lights, the Maestro, El Streak-o. But.....Dang! All of these posters picking DLS as their 10 point pick concerns me. Has DLS received a few transfers that are going to turn them into a super power again? Is there something I don't know? With the 2-week timeframe to prepare, has De La Salle confidently covered every play the Rams plan at using against them, including the double wing-T on short yardage situations? The Rams D did indeed struggle against Lodi's ground game (multiple RB's used) and lots of misdirection. Lodi is NOT De La Salle. This in itself can be quite dangerous in picking the Rams to win, especially as a 10 point pick. Heck, even Pasty wants to pick DLS with a 20 point pick!
Might be safer for me to return St. Mary's as my 1 point pick, still rooting for them to win, of course, while not putting my pick'ems for the week in total danger. I still come out ahead picking them to win at 1 point vs so many picking DLS as their 10 point, should the Rams pull off the miracle. Time to think smart vs going crazy confident, even though confidence is indeed very high in the Rams. What to do? What to do? What to do? Tick tock tick tock.
I have caved! Returned this pick of St. Mary's over DLS to my 1 point pick. Still believe Rams will pull off the upset, but being conservative with my picks, seeing that many participants are picking DLS big, including several as 10 point picks. DLS is still DLS. And St. Mary's is still a very young team. A loss isn't going to hurt, so long as we get stronger from it to being more successful in the playoffs. Besides, why take the chance and go undefeated and challenge the voters to pick St. Mary's to face off vs SJB or MD? May be best to take the Folsom formula and lose to DLS in seasonal play only to come back and avenge the loss in the regionals to play in the state game while avoiding SJB or MD, whoever the mighty SoCal Open rep is. Let's leave that to Serra. LOL.
Okay, I am outta here! Heading to the SM vs DLS game early to ensure I find parking. You would think the SM athletic dept would reserve parking spots for their chain gang ... NOT! lol
Good luck to all, especially the St. Mary's RAMS! GO RAMS!!!
Ah ha...the ole switcheroony before the clock runs out. LOLAs my buddy on the chain gang shared with me when I asked about confidence in this game (just a minute ago), he said ā10 might be a stretch. Lolā Hence, going 1 pointer on my picks but 10 in my heart. Lol.
Dang good pickāems! Just waiting on Aragon at Menlo on Saturday. Hope you achieve perfection and Menlo wins! And great 10 point pick! I should have not have abandoned your inspiration (and reverting my St. Maryās pick back to my 1 point pick). Congratulations in advance! You got this!De La Salle at St. Mary's-Stockton

Your chain gang partner talked you out of a great 10 point pick.My Pickāems got crushed with so many losses in the middle. Kind if expected this (SM win but getting crushed on many other games) LOL!!! Oh well. Iāll take last nights victory on the field over any pickāem win. GO RAMS!!!
Yes, he did! And I reminded him of it, as well, at least a couple of times. We laughed. Itās all good! šYour chain gang partner talked you out of a great 10 point pick.
