First game up in a couple minutes...

My Campolindo Cougars take on mighty Salesian... Despite the very high effort my guys play with, I can’t see any way we can hang with Akinjo’s Gang...

But that’s why they play the games.... GO COUGS!!

Here’s why... Cougs down by just 12-11 after almost 6 minutes...

Kiddman, I know you like the Cougs and go to tons of games all over, but I thought your teams were (not necessarily in order) Berean (alum), St. Joe's and DLS? Do you have teams in every division? Just messing with ya.

Salesian puts a couple things together... 18-14 Pride after one stanza.

Observer... My teams in order:

St. Joe
Campo
DLS

Yes, I did go to Berean... Loved the school, hated the Bible-thumping. That’s why I am atheist.

At least at Catholic schools, they don’t get all inyerface with their fairy tale, so I can almost completely ignore their silly beliefs almost all the time.

29-21 Salesian at the half... Cougs hanging in, but if Salesian starts to hit anything from outside, it’s all over...

Pride is just too fast and skilled.

A couple quick ones and a 3 for the Pride around a pair of scores by the Cougs.. 36-25

Pride getting a lot of help from an unexpected source, their backup big man #13.

49-38 end of 3... Coug D is tough and disciplined... Salesian offense is stagnant. But of course Salesian is totally in lockdown mode defensivelt

55-44 with 4:45 left... Hey! Who had four and five in the office pool??

67-53 final... Much better game than I expected... But then, it seems the Cougs almost always exceed expectations... That’s why they’re a fave of mine.

Salesian’s #13 Sawyer led the scoring with 23 points.... Had himself a NIGHT against the Munchkins...

Salesian rolls right into the Open NorCals, and Campo likely a fairly high seed in D3, I’d guess... But with these new playoff rules, who knows?

Thanks for the reporting once again Kiddman. I could see Campo get moved up into D2, but as you said with the new system no one really knows until we see it tomorrow night.

Thank you. Do you know if there’s a selection show like NCS?

I am not aware of any, but I suppose it's possible. I think they are going to be so pressed for time that they won't be able to spend time on it.

Very true. It just seems like they’re just adding so much more work to their lives. Thank you. Best of luck to all the committee.

Salesian gets the gender sweep in D3, their girls winning a physical battle vs. Cardinal Newman by something like 53-46, a seesaw affair with a zillion lead changes...

These are the #1 and #2-ranked Division 2 teams in California...

Not that it matters, but LL holds the 1 spot on the charts...

Have I mentioned today that the NCS doesn’t suck very much??

Most folks have had some trouble with outside shooting in this gym this weekend, even though it doesn’t seem all that cavernous...

This would appear to be to LL’s disadvantage, but... These guys can *reallllyyyy* shoot!

O’Dowd tries a small lineup to match LL’s speed and fall behind 11-6... Bigs go in, but still down 18-12 after one frantic quarter.

Doesn't surprise me Sawyer's father was a hell of a player at McAteer high school some years ago. If he works at it he would be really good in the near future.

Game getting really wild and out of control, both sides... 43–40 Dragons

Hardy sinks a longggggggg 3 as time runs out in the 3rd... 49-42 Dragons

3 straight scores by Gaskin while LL scores four themselves... 59-55 Dragons with 1:10 left.

After they’re done, can they play another one??? Pleeeeeeeeexze??

65-55 final... Even tho the game wasn’t close to the end, it was one helluva game... Exlposive athleticism all over the floor...

Great atmosphere packed house with lots of Las Lomas fans representing. It was my first time seeing LL in person. They have a really nice PG in Rob Prince - dude had some of the nicest passes that I've seen this year - really impressed with his overall game. He also checked Hardy all game long. Nate Robinson picked up two early fouls in first quarter but had a good game. Also Devin Payne is a real nice player as well.

BOD had just enough quickness and athleticism to pull out the victory. Gaskin started strong and finished strong but BOD got away from him in the second / third quarters. Hardy struggled early but found his stride in the second quarter and had a nice second half - hit some big 3's in the second half.

I think that lack of size is going to hurt both LL and BOD in NorCals even though BOD has Hawkins back he wasn't that big of a factor against an undersized LL squad.
