NCS D4 Bracket

Why in the world does a #2 seed have to travel that’s is a ridiculous rule and needs to be changed. St. Pats should be hosting until finals should they win, now traveling first round!

I am so sick of seeing year after year the #2 seed getting punished and having to travel to an away school in the first round because these not so good teams win in these washed leagues. The rule needs to be changed.

I don’t care if it’s Staples Center or Oracle Arena it’s a joke that a 2 SEED has to travel to a 15. I don’t care if st pats plays in a parking lot it’s a JOKE a 2 seed has to travel don’t care how nice the gym is!
IT WAS A JOKE!!! Wow people are sensitive. This happens every year and the outrage is like new every year. Pick a number below 100 and that's how much SPSV will win by. It's not a big deal.

The only point I was making is that a 2 seed shouldn’t have to travel to a 15 seed, ya they’ll blow them out but shouldn’t be on the road all I was saying.

I agree that top-3 seeds, maybe top-4, should get the home game no matter what their opponent did in their league. 5 and below, league winner probably should get the nod. So, yeah I think SPSV shouldn't have to deal with the inconvenience (and expense) of traveling to get what should be an easy first-round win.

But all this will be forgotten after the game... Might have even been fun for the team and fans to go up there.

First time poster to this forum, but I am a graduate of Stuart Hall (Class of 05), and maybe I can help shed a little more light on this division.

St Patrick St Vincent SHOULDNT have to travel to Roseland Prep. That right there is a joke, and makes zero sense. I don't care if Roseland won their weak division. They are a very good team, and Dishon Jackson is one of the most underrated sophomores in Norcal.

My Stuart Hall Knights had a very difficult schedule this year and have had to deal with star PG Miles Amos being injured since their huge upset of Sacramento High (D-1 School). Regardless they still played close with University in all three games, until they eventually couldn't keep up with University's height. Freshman Nigel Burris, is a 6'4 powerhouse who can hit three-point shots with ease. The Knights should handle Middletown. Saint Mary's might give'em some problems, but the real matchup will be Stuart Hall versus St. Patrick-St. Vincent. I'm really hoping we get to see that matchup.

St. Joes of Notre Dame struggled out of the gate, but have been on a hot streak as of late. Their conference isn't very good, but they went 12-0 and beat SPSV, which is what I feel gave them the 1-seed. Had Stuart Hall beat University yesterday, I think Stuart Hall would have gotten the 1-seed, and you best believe if SVSP had pulled the upset over Salesian they would have gotten the 1 seed. I personally feel St Joe's is the 3rd best amongst these teams, but due to a very easy conference, will have the homecourt advantage at their gym.

And for the record I hate St Joes of Notre Dame's gym. Would have really liked to see St. Joes have to go to Kezar. Stuart Hall beat Sacramento High, St Joe's didn't. But we will see how things shake out.

I'm really excited for the NCS this year!

The pg being out hurts Stuart Hall. Because of that, I can't see anything except St Joseph of Notre Dame playing St Patrick of St Vincent in the final

Miles will be back Wednesday. He probably could have played the Championship game against UNI yesterday, but he wouldn't have been at full strength.

I think he'll be fine come Semi's and Finals, with two games to warm up prior.

Miles Amos is an extremely underrated junior PG, and in my opinion has a chance to be like James Akinjo in terms of star rating, especially if he can work on his shot a little this offseason.

Thank You!!

D4 NCS Starts today.

I'll be at the Stuart Hall vs. Middletown game
The Hall shouldn't have much of a problem, but Middletown is scrappy. They defend and rebound well and their point guard can shoot and is a bit of a pain in the ass to defend. My prediction is SH 55-40.

Stuart Hall has done a good job in the 1st round game, and I think their PG Miles Amos, is going to go out there with something to prove. Hall hasn't lost an opening round NCS game in a long time (5+ years at least), so while I respect Middletown, I don't expect them to be able to compete with our team.

I just hope they don't make things dirty, as I read they had a game earlier this year that was forfeited because the teams and fans nearly rioted over the refs.

That game was due to the other team's issues with the officials, not Middletown. They do play extremely hard and won't give up anything easily. I played against their coach in the late 80's and they have his personality. Extremely tough and hard nosed, but not to the point of dirty. I'd expect a pretty easy game for SH, but you'll probably respect the effort of Middletown when it's all said and done.

I def. respect them, not to mention they will be excited to play in Kezar Stadium and in a big city like San Francisco. IF Stuart Hall's PG Miles Amos isn't at least 70%, they could have a little bit of trouble.

BTW on a side note has anyone figured out a reasonable explanation why SVSP is playing on the road tonight as a 2 seed?

I don't care if Roseland Prep won their conference. Some of those conferences are such garbage. They shouldn't guarantee a home game to anyone that wins their conference. SPSV finished 2nd in what I consider the best conference in the bay area right now. They get rewarded by playing a road game an hour away.

Just got back from the Stuart Hall vs. Middletown game. SHHS played their C-game tonight and still handled Middletown pretty easily in the 2nd half winning 54-46. At halftime it was only a 3-point game. MT was one of the sloppiest teams I have seen this year. Lots of travelling, but a lot of fans showed up from 2 hours away to support their team. Gotta give them props for that.

Next game will be tough for my Knights, but I think they'll learn from this game and handle business Saturday at Kezar. BTW, the PG Miles Amos is back, he had a nice little game tonight but had to sit most of the 3rd after the ref called back-to-back ticky tack fouls. Also Nigel Burris is a stud, and for being a freshman who is 6'4, he has such a sweet shot. His dad and grandpa are both very tall, so I think he could hit 6'8, maybe even 6'9.

Predictions for tomorrow:

St. Joe's big over Fortuna

Lick in a close one by 2-3 over Piedmont

SPSV over Healdsburg, but the Greyhounds will make it interesting w SPSV pulling away late for a 10-15 point win

SH over St Mary's in a 10 point +/- win

St. Mary's & Piedmont to win. Final 4 of old (BSAL) Bay Shore Athletic League

Excited for the Quarters today...I'll make sure to live post from the Stuart Hall/Saint Mary's game today.

If SH is anywhere close to the team that beat sac, they'll win by 15-20. .000001% chance the final isn't SPSV vs SJND. I realize they lost earlier but I can't see SPSV losing this year

I think 0.000001% is a little bit long for a team with no bad losses on their schedule. I won't talk about the future until it gets there, but I think unlike previous years both SPSV and SJND are both beatable. But the only team I think capable of that would be my Knights. Anyone 4 seed and above has no shot against either team. I would say Lick would have a shot, but not without Zach they don't.

Its too bad Newman petitioned up to D2. They really belong in D4. Not saying they would have beaten St Joes or Pats this year but in most years they are in the top few teams in D4.

Yes beat them by 12. Play st pats again on wed

Just got back from my back 2 back of SHHS/St. Mary's and USD/USF (NCAAB). Have to say it Saint Mary's was the better team today. They hit more shots, hit their free throws, and stifled Stuart Hall's usually reliable press.

The only player who played even remotely well for Stuart Hall was their PG Amos, everyone else seemed to struggle against a surprisingly athletic St. Mary's team.

Overall I'm disappointed, but that is how the game works. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way. Just hope my Knights have done enough to make it to D4 States.

Stuart Hall season is over. Nobody is getting pulled to the Open from D4 this year.
