NCS D4 Bracket

Just got back from my back 2 back of SHHS/St. Mary's and USD/USF (NCAAB). Have to say it Saint Mary's was the better team today. They hit more shots, hit their free throws, and stifled Stuart Hall's usually reliable press.

The only player who played even remotely well for Stuart Hall was their PG Amos, everyone else seemed to struggle against a surprisingly athletic St. Mary's team.

Overall I'm disappointed, but that is how the game works. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way. Just hope my Knights have done enough to make it to D4 States.
Thanks for the capsule description of the game.As a SMB alum I'm pleasantly surprised, especially since some had them losing by anywhere from 10 to 20 points,

No surprise here. SMB HC Rich Buckner and former Riordan HC always has his teams peaking at playoff time with his focus on solid team defense and execution on offense.

Looks like SMB found a coaching gem , finally.

Buckner was a heck of a player at Riordan and coach as well. Not sure what happened there but good for SMB. I miss them being good like in the 2000-2010 days.

As a Stuart Hall Fan, when the bracket came out and I saw Saint Mary's in our quadrant, I knew it was not going to be easy.

Gotta hand it to Coach Buckner....he had those boys ready to go. Down 3 at the half, they went on a big run and the Hall could never even get close after that.

I think SVSP has their number, but still a nice showing from a Saint Mary's team that wasn't expected to make much noise in this tourney.

Also Lick pulled off a win against Piedmont and will play SJND who they beat earlier this year. Big difference though. SJND didn't have it's new big transfer player who got offered by USF, and Lick had Zach Johnson playing for them who has been out for the season with knee surgery.

So ya'll will get exactly what you wanted. SVSP vs. SJND Finals.

All ten NCS Finals will be streamed on NFHS, along with manyyyyyyyyyyy others. (but not state finals, those are tied up by TV).

If ya have really fast broadband, 10 bucks for a month of the streaming is well worth it. The service ain't anything close to perfect, but it doesn't suck, either. Not as good as BAOSN or NorCalSportsTV, in other words, but certainly watchable.

I plunked down the $10 a couple nights ago and watched all the Wednesday games I could find... Watching games on-demand will occupy TONS of my time til the end of March. And not just in Calif, either. I lived in Oregon for 18 years and have a number of teams up there I like to watch... And I'm sure I'll find lots of other games to look at. :)

BTW, I noticed that NFHS just bought "The Cube" and swallowed it whole... Not sure what that will mean next year for Cube users and broadcasters.
