NCS OPEN, D1, D2

Cardinal Newman wins D4. Pinewood wins the D5 title every year. Every private school rolls in its division. Schools manipulate enrollment figures.

Worked like a charm

Why no 16 seed in D1???

Both boys and girls...

Makes no sense...now the should have been 16 in D1 gets a home game in D2?

That's messed up...
I wondered how they were going to do that. there were two by's in D3 through D5, so a total of seven openings. Looks like they just went from the bottom up.

I guess they could have had a nine-team D5, but otherwise this is probably the best they could do.

Cn won 1 d4 section. (2015)

Try again..

This years NCS d4 with CN, Salesian, Piedmont, Justin-Siena would have been epic.

And PUBLIC SRV would have been winning their section every year over the last 3 or 4 yrs. Did SRV become a private recently? Or Acalanes?

Look at the history though. The dominance of privates in enrollment based divisions was ridiculous. It's still true in CCS.

More than anything, it's about who's willing to recruit. Usually that's the privates because it helps with admissions.

Unfortunately there is no perfect system. The public schools now are getting transfers just like privates(East Bay schools are all now competing with your teams for players). The public school down the highway from you has your number and you are involved with one of the largest feeder AAU programs in the country. Teams are being rewarded for losing as they get dropped divisions. Head to head should still be a criteria and you not recognizing that is part of the bigger problem. Give us all the magic maxpreps formula so teams can prepare properly when scheduling in the off season and that may help a little. High school sports will eventually go away, which is sad but true.
