The one issue i have with Calpreps only is it can discount head to head matchups. Is nor cal using Cal preps for the playoffs the same as So Cal?
In CIFSS the top 8 teams are placed in the "open bracket".
If Nor cal did the same, as of now the teams in the Nor cal open bracket would be:
St. Francis
DLS
Rocklin
Folsom
Buchanan
Pittsburg
Serra
menlo Atherton
Bellermine
This would be the best open bracket but probably won't happen due to too many silo sections. For football, Nor Cal should have 1 big section like the CIFSS. That way it solves alot of problems
That’s a nice write up. But they make no mention of the NCS Open, which people on here have said is a 2-team bracket (most likely DLS & Pitt) where the loser gets inserted into the D1 bracket finals? Does anyone know if that NCS Open bracket is actually happening, or if it was just being discussed?
Yes and no. Isn’t Rocklin a D2 team? Same with Granite Bay? How about Wilcox and Los Gatos? There are plenty of teams in each section should be playing in a higher division. I think the NCS is merely doing what the other sections have been doing, which is give their section the best chance to put their best teams in Cif NorCal bowls.Way to water down … Div 1 and 2 ok. 3 and 4 should be combined and 5 6 and 7 should be one. Going to be some bad teams making playoffs for no reason. Only need 4 divisions
I honestly don’t know if and why the sections would even care that much about if their teams make a SBG unless they see a good profit on it. Does anyone know how much the sections make if their teams are selected for a SBG?Yes and no. Isn’t Rocklin a D2 team? Same with Granite Bay? How about Wilcox and Los Gatos?
