If Foothill runs the table and beats MV & Cal, I don't know how Antioch would be "a clear #2". They would both be undefeated and both beat SL by 23. They will have also both played Freedom, who Foothill beat 28-14. Plus Foothill beat Antioch handily in last year's NCS playoffs 54-8. I know this is not last year, but that game could still be on some of the committee's minds. I'm not saying that Foothill would be the clear #2 seed, but just that it would not be a shoe in for Antioch to get the nod either. A lot of football to be played and evaluated before that question has to be answered.
After last night, it is looking more like a much smaller if. Foothill dominated MV last night, with a few late scores by MV making the final score look much closer than the game. Cal lost to AV and may not be up to beating Foothill this season. Meanwhile, Antioch beat Freedom by a similar margin that Foothill beat them, and Pitt looked very vulnerable in squeaking by an average DV squad.
If both Foothill and Antioch run the table in their final 3 games to remain undefeated, they would obviously be #2 (and get the home field advantage) & #3, but in what order? Not a given at this pint as great arguments can be made for both teams. The important thing for both programs is getting into the opposite side of the bracket from DLS so they would not have to face them until the finals.
