NCS Scrimmages Canceled This Friday?

Sound like Whitney is in. I texted a few coaches to see who else they are trying to get. But no answer yet.
Love the info you have.... Did you you hear back from your sources? Who were they trying to get for the scrimmage tonight? Did they succeed? It would be good to get a 4th team so one team doesn't just have to sit out all the time.

I didn’t hear any info. I went to the Niner game. So I was unable to make it to their practice. And for some reason I didn’t get any of there text. But I’m sure they worked something out. I’ll be there tonight.

Know you meant '.."dimension" to the Eagle Offense' but think you let your true thoughts and disapproval slip out by typing 'new "demention" (i.e. dementia) to the Eagle offense..... ;) (agree)
concrete...agreed.....wandering fingers come up with different thoughts and great spelling comes forth....

Anyone check out any scrimmages tonight? I tried to make the Amador scrimmage at DV. Curious how the Dons looked?

Cardinal Newman vs Marin Catholic
MC's Jamar Sekona is going to be a handful for anyone it matches up against. He caused trouble for CN and maybe the top two teams in NCS could contain him. It appears that MC will be more run oriented this year as it looks to control the trenches. MC talent at QB and WR down vs last year. While the D-Line is a work in progress, CN LB corps might be among the best in section. CN QB was never really challenged as MC stuck to vanilla pass defense. MC played to stop the run, stuck to eight man front and never solved the passing defense.

To oto o didn’t play. Has a boot on his right foot. Looks to be in good spirits. Moving well. Sounds like he’s probable for the game next week. Would suck if he can’t play. Hackett played well in his absence.

Overall DLS looked pretty good on both sides. Hale is going to lead this offense to a lot of points. The D looks stout even without Henry.

Folsom had better not sleep on Jesuit. They’re big and athletic. They’ve got a good QB with a couple of receivers that are about 6-4. They were impressive. Whitney has a good QB and a few nice pieces, but a Jesuit and DLS-1 crushed them.

The DLS 2nd squad of soph and juniors held their own. Made for good practice for Jesuit and Whitney. I’m glad they stepped up to fill that 4th spot.

Thanks. How would your rate Newman QB compared with some the prior ones like Barrington/Wright/Brookshire? I hear good things. How did Newman big wide out look? (woods).

People forget round 2 of Folsom vs Jesuit was a close game. Jesuit is going to open some eyes this year. National recruits on there team will do that. They had 3 losses last year. 2 of which were to a state champ team (Folsom) and 1 to a section champ team Granite Bay.

Was there last night watching Jesuit, and I talked to a few DLS parents and they said Henry will play Friday, They just kept him out because they felt like they did not need to play him in a scrimmage and let him rest up a few more days. DLS Defensive Line is the real deal. Constant pressure on both Jesuit and Whitney, will not be an easy task for Folsom's O-Line. My alma mater Jesuit looks prime this year to compete for a D1 title. I know Folsom is full of stars and athletes, but this year we look built to compete. I was pretty happy with what I saw from us. Rutherford did not play as well, he was on the sideline in just a jersey and shorts. When I watched Whitney they competed and looked discipline. I thought they were going to be awful because of their rankings and coming off a sanctioned season with a new staff. But they looked solid and well coached, could surprise some SFL teams this year. I will be at the DLS game vs Folsom as we play them to open the season on Aug 24th.

Crazy how you can talk to people and hear the exact opposite. Crazy world we live in.

Regardless- in a boot yesterday=not 100 percent next Friday. Will make it challenging.

Nice post! After what I I saw from Jesuit last night, I’m a fan. This team can challenge Folsom. I have zero doubt. I remember a few years ago when they played DLS, they didn’t fare so well. But I remember Coach Blanton saying that this is where we want to get to (DLS caliber). And he’s held true to that. This team looks good! I think they’d give DLS a helluva game too. I will definitely be at your opener against Folsom. Good luck!!

Hmmm. You sound like block/FPB/FST on the national board. But you don’t know anything about that do ya? Dweeb.
Not sure what all that is or means but you need to calm down. This is HSFB. No need to take this seriously and cuss on these boards.

Any scrimmage talk on this forum, or just the same thing on every thread?

Thought this would be informative for the upcoming season, and it seems like all that’s posted is the same banter over and over. Can we get some HSFB insight please?

The only way this “stays classy” is if Streak bans you permanently...and any alias that even remotely fits your MO in the future.
So you are cussing and name calling, but I should be banned? Sounds about right.

Keep it classy and football related. No need for cussing or name calling. We are adults here.

Do me favor. Don’t respond to any of my posts until after the game. I’ve honestly had enough of you for 6 months. I’ll reciprocate the favor. I thank the iunim advance.

Not going to compare QBs. He is an equal threat passing the ball as he is running the ball. Gets through multiple progressions easily. Strong arm. Extremely accurate. Jake Woods is a physical mismatch problem for opposing defenses. Big improvement on YAC. Goes up and gets the ball and believes he can take it to the house every time he touches the ball.

Thanks. I'm excited to watch them play. You also have Leberthon at 6"2-6"3 as another wideout. Going to be tough to match up with Newman. And Dino is one of the best LB's around. That Liberty game is going to be special.

Too bad MC and CN no longer in same division. 59-56 would not happen again.. both defenses look more physical.

Finally got an update on the Dons scrimmage. This is from an Amador parent/coach, so take it for what its worth...

The scrimmage between Amador, Deer Valley, and Logan was really good. No issues, a few minor injuries.

Amador- HUGE numbers on the Varsity level. I think he said they dressed in the 70's. Offensively they looked OK kept everything really Vanilla, but the returning QB looked really good. Hes a big 6'5 230 lb duel threat. He should pose difficulties for the EBAL. They have a kid young WR who is explosive, and can take the top off the defense. Defensively, what they lack in size, they make up in experience. Lots of seniors on this side of the ball, including the QB. They gave it to Deer Valley on both sides of the ball.

Deer Valley- Much improved from the previous few years. Still light on numbers, but they have the best athlete on the field. Hes a DB and QB, and reminds him of the twin brother from a few years ago. Said they should battle in the BVAL for some W's.

Logan- Said by far the biggest surprise on the night. Looked like an entirely different program than what faced Foothill in NCS last season. They were big and physical, and although they don't have the athletes they used to have, they should be good in the next few years. I believe he said they have a Soph, and Frosh competing for the starting QB job, and they both ran the offense well.

Football starts Friday! Good luck to all the programs. Hope everyone had a great summer. Boys of fall are back.

Agree. You had MC QB now at Iowa and Newman's QB at Arizona State. Tough shoes to fill on the offensive.

Not suprised witn Logan. Ricky Rodriguez is a really good coach (think Freedom chose the wrong guy). He has a way about him and should be able to tap into the talent at the school. #'s way up I hear.

The thing about Logan is... what they gonna do when playoffs start? Mval is a cakewalk.
Them vs Moreau
