As a registered dinosaur and a certified graduate of Jurassic Prep, change is painful.

I am going to guess, most of this change is being dictated by Rivals. As Kiddman said, the font is easier to read.
To me, it seems it's attempt to simplify, but it winds up creating more confusion than it calls for. Change for Change sake.
I do prefer the old one simply because, I now have to readjust my Laser sharp reflex's, and this slows down my browsing.
