What is the scoop on these two teams? Always an interesting matchup. Rancho lost a number of good starters from last years team, and CN looks to be a little better than last year. Rancho does not look to strong this year, CN probably wins this one big.

I like CN 35 and Rancho 14. I think CN at full strength is a pretty solid team whether its D3 or D4. Anybody hear about Connor Rubittino from Newman? Looks like he hurt his knee against Maria Carillo….

Larry what position does Connor Rubittino play?

Rubittino plays wide receiver and is a big target at 6"4 190. He got tackled into from behind blocking and it looked really bad on film. (knee). Hopefully the kid is ok. He has a bright future in Hoops.

Was he hurt earlier in the season? I watched them play the first game I think and he wasn't out there.

I mean its arguable if Rancho looks strong or not. Playing Newman will let us know where they stand. If your looking at the Antioch score I wouldn't read too much into it. I think if Antioch keeps their head on straight, grind like they're grinding, they will end up in the D1 finals.

Cardinal Newman leads Rancho 21-14 at halftime. Rancho looks very limited on offense relying on WR screens that aren't super crisp. CN has had good success on the ground and looks better on the lines.

On the final drive before the half, CN had a TD taken off the board and ended up missing a FG

End of 3rd, CN 35-Rancho14. CN also had a first qtr Kickoff return for TD called back.

Rancho scores. CN gets onside kick. 3+ min left, Rancho 1 time out left. 42-28 CN

And to think Rancho is the best team CN will play in that entire area.

Terrible...

Good game! Just ran out of time. The last time out on O hurt. Turnovers hurt. Newman is a good football team. They looked good up front and their back ran the ball hard.

Newman is a Div. IV school playing Div. III and Div. II schools. They are just a cut above.

Division 2 and 3 on paper.

Extremely low quality D 2 and D 3. None of those D2 or D3 teams in that area can compete with the other sections. Night and day.

You're comparing apples to oranges. CN is a Div. IV school playing up against much larger schools. What does that have to do with how those schools would do in an intersectional game?

Don't give me that Division 4 BS. They may be by enrollment, but MOST private schools play up in divisions because they have an advantage that public schools don't.

Even with that advantage, CN barely beat a low quality large school opponent.

Sorry but your "cut above the rest" argument may fly in that small little county, but not anywhere else.

Let's keep it honest here. Your going to play Fort Bragg in the playoffs this year. What a travesty.

The North Bay has played in a few state bowl games. With Newman and MC in IV should have even more teams playing in those games. I will say there are no elite teams this season but they will be back. Just one of those years. Lots of solid play but just no all time teams. I don't know exactly how the playoffs and bowl games work this season but I expect Newman and MC to have a shot this season in IV.

Sure right after you show me who said Oceanside was as good as CC
I'm sure he deleted his comment at half time of that game when he saw the score ;)

Lights and turf are nice. Although a bit pricey ;)

Are they letting out all the old people in Kentfield from the Nursing home to see the MC Saturday afternoon football matinee? ;)

MC tuition- 13k
Hot dog at MC game- 12 bucks
MC415s car payment- 600 bucks
No lights for the football field- priceless

LMFAO!!!!! ;):)
