Newman vs Rancho

Thank you for admitting to making shit up
I'm sure you can find the person by name who said it. It's in one of those threads if he didn't delete it.

I know it's probably hard for you to find with your "old persons dial up" Internet out there ;)

Awwwwww making up stuff about high school football? You have to make lies about high school football? Lmao

Next thing your going to lie about is that Folsom tried to schedule a game with DLS

This cracks me up. I'm just glad Newman held on. Sounds like Rancho got hot late. How did the wideout committed to Louisville look?

larry legend33. I like it when you crack up. It's a chain reaction thing, because then I crack up, and get cramps in my smile muscles and Mrs. Muds walks in and asks why the sh__ eating grin and there is no way I can explain it to her and then here come more cramps on top of cramps. Question: what goes on in a coach's mind and body when there's still enough time on the 4th qtr clock and his QB or center or both get the yips and starting flubbing the snap with the other team only two TDs and 3-extra points away from getting to have their fat lady sing? Muds

He's good. Took the 2nd play of the game like 65 yards up the sideline for the first score. Game will be broadcast tomorrow night at 7pm on Comcast Hometown.

He looked good. Only caught the second half but he got in the end zone a few times. They said he had 170 or so yards during the game. It was a good one. Looked like Newman was going to put them away and Rancho held on and mounted a comeback in the 4th. I honestly thought they had a chance the whole time even when they were down big. When Ward started to get loose Rancho grabbed the momentum. Newman played well. They had a turnover late and almost had another. The line looked nice, they tackled well, the back was bullying people. Rancho did throw for over 300 on them so that's an issue but Newman did what they needed to do. Newman should hold their own the rest of the way.

Cardinal Newman was clearly the better team and made things interesting with a late fumble. CN's ability to run the ball and Rancho not being able to is what this boiled down too.

I thought Taylor-Yamanoha looked the part, but isn't a wow prospect. I would like to see Rancho use him more downfield.

I think MC415 is obsessed with Folsom.

I would be following Folsom too if MC were my team and I was watching football on Saturday afternoons from the sideline in my 1980's lawn chair ;)

Come see a game up here MC415. If you can't afford the travel, I will treat ya :)

Taylor Yamanoha looked pretty good to me. I caught reply and he caught a bubble screen 2nd play of game and it took it 70 yards to the house. He's got really good D1 size at the wideout slot. Legit 6"2 and will put on muscle. Ortola from Newman is an unsung hero. Just a really good HS player. You need kids like this. I did hear that Rubittino is out 4 weeks or so. I would say his football season is over but it doesn't sound like ACL or anything so hoops should be fine thank god. Another guy who seems to have a chance to play at the next level is Damien Wallace from Newman. He's only a Jr and a little on the smaller size but this kid is amazing both as a DB and WR. It's too bad Newman didn't get that win against D1 St Mary's. That would have been a solid win on there schedule. I don't see Newman losing again in regular season.

You saw the whole game and I'm sorta biased but Newman benefited allot from Rancho turnovers so it cuts both ways.

Taylor Yamanoah isn't a freak athlete but a great Wr. Lots of prospects are just freak athletes that college coaches think they can magically turn into great football players. Louisville has like 3 or 4 solid freshman Wr's so I wonder how he's going to fit into the mix. When they get him on their workout and nutritional program he's going to only improve. Lots of big time schools need a guy who can run routes and will catch whatever is thrown his way. Time will tell.

I'm torn on throwing the ball downfield. I like a team to take their shots when the opportunity presents itself but the longer the ball is in the air the greater the chance the other teams has to gain possession. The short quick passing game is sorta an extension of the run game. Getting the ball into the hands of play-makers without allot of risk. Risk vs reward IMO. Funny thing is for years Newman was king of the short to intermediate passing game. Now they're a ground a pound team that will take the top off when the defense sucks in.

Says the guy who won't even post a picture of his own field out of embarrassment.

Also from the guy who is obsessed with Folsom and meticulously follows every thread on them ;)

Good luck to Folsom the rest of the way and to all the teams in Northern California. Young men giving it their all and most importantly learning life long lessons is what counts.

The first cool thing you have said.

Like I said before, if you ever wanna come see a game up my way, let me know. My treat ;)

G61 is the man. Always a gentlemen. It seems like its DLS and Folsom again this year and the next best is a very distant 3rd. Is Antioch good enough with a legit future pro in Najee Harris to knock off a team like Folsom? You get a guy like that and he could seriously run for 200-300 yards against anybody IMO. Just a thought???

I think Taylor Yamanoah will do fine at the next level. He's just a good football player period. I agree with Slick. Freak athletes are sometimes just that. Can run and jump and do nothing else. I've played with many people like that. Get them on the field or the court and its a different story.

Wallace is too small to play hoops in college. I think his best opportunity is if he gets to about 6"0 180-185 next year. He could def play low D1 at like Sac, Poly, or UC Davis. Rubattino is a big loss for Newman. Don't get many 6"4 wideouts who can play like him. Newman's receiving core is very thin. But playing D4 they have a good chance to go very, very far. MC would be the team to beat.

Rubittino plays wide receiver and is a big target at 6"4 190. He got tackled into from behind blocking and it looked really bad on film. (knee). Hopefully the kid is ok. He has a bright future in Hoops.

hi Larry Legend :)

Conor Rubittino has a slightly torn MCL...The knee is too swollen to check the ACL.
The Dr's are giving him a few days for the swelling to go down and then they are rechecking the ACL. As of now, assuming no ACL injury, Rubittino would have arthro surgery, rehab and be back by NBL league in January. That's the hope :-( keeping our fingers crossed!!!

it definitely sucks for Conor. Especially getting injured on such a fluke play.

I liked Wallace too. He should have some suitors for him next year in football.

On Taylor-Yamanoha, I think he is a good player. I just would put him below some of the other top receivers in recent years like Collin Johnson, Austin Aaron, etc.

NBguru- Oh that stinks about Connor. Knee injuries always seem to linger longer too. That is worse than I thought. Newman had the makes of another pretty solid team with him and wallace returning along with a good younger class. Streak- I really enjoy wallace as well. He will get some opportunities with his grit and toughness. Streak, what happened to the kid at UCLA from CO? Stallworth I think. I would have expected him to play. He was a stud.

I think it was Alex Van Dyke, who only has one catch this year at UCLA. WR has been a tough position to project out of here. Another guy who I thought would be good at Washington was Darrell Daniels from Freedom.

There is an update on pdpreps. Sounds like he may be good for the hoop season. Also sounds like there is beef between the hoops and football coach.

I have a friend that suffered a similar injury in high school during football. His was not as bad.

He attempted to come back to play basketball but was not the same. He lasted a few games and that was it. That injury is a beast.

Was that back in the day because we both know sports medicine is night and day from 20+ years ago. Sounds like Connor is getting top flight medical advice. Not saying that he's going to come back exactly the same or more explosive but times have changed. I was a big Billy Simms fan as a kid. He could have probably stuck around the league the way sports medicine is today.

I would hope for the best, but expect the worse. Knee injuries like that are no joke. The kid blew up his entire knee.

Look at Navarro Bowman. He is just not the same.

Just getting around to reading this. That is really to bad. He was getting some pretty serious college hoop looks. I can't believe they are talking about playing this season. Forget about it…..

Yeah, long shot he is ever 100%. Pretty devastating injury to come back from. Too bad kid is pretty legit on the hardwood.
