For geezer followers of The Big R, some fondness for Coach Carson of M-A is in order. He is a son of a Riordan multi-sport athlete, Mike Carson, a PG and QB at the school back in the 1950s. Mike went on to notable success at nearby SF State College.

I am not surprised at the Cream of the WCAL rising to the Top and although it would be nice to say, “TheR is 1 and SI is 1a”,…I don’t see that and wish SI could be in Div 1 for their successful run to a State Title.

But the most telling is the story in the Bottom Dwellars of CCS Open is VC, Serra, Mitty and of course Bellarmine. But it does reveal that the WCAL in their section is not down, but a step bellow the programs of the City.
