Kiddman, I actually looked that up prior to posting that Branson was D3. MaxPreps has them ranked #5 in the state for D3, and #1 in NCS D3. They may indeed be D2, but MaxPreps isn't aware of it.

I do not think Cardinal Newman should be an open team and I am not trying to be disrespectful but if they do they will not win and Branson is NCS D3.

It’s a bloodbath if they get in. I like there team if they were playing d4. But at d2 they will have a tough time winning 2 ncs games.

They defend very well. I like what they have done on offense this year, with a lot more spacing and movement but I am just not sold that any of us up North are good enough to beat really good teams. Open teams are all really good.

Btw…Redwood over Branson tonight. Likely MCAL champ game next week to resolve it.
