Notable Norcal Names In the NCAA Transfer Portal

I thought every conference followed the pac 12s lead and guarenteed 4 years. If that is true, how could a coach force a player to leave?

Very easily....they politely can make it a very unpleasant environment to be a student athlete.

Also a coach can let them know at the end of the season they are not a part of the long term process and they are recruiting another person at their position

Scholarships are a year to year contract.
With all due respect...This statement is completely false...Unless there is some violation of team rules or academic issues that would void it, the 4 year scholarship must be honored. Same money all 4 years. As mentioned above, some coaches will make life very difficult to the point a player will want to leave, but it is NOT a year to year contract. That would be absurd to have to negotiate after each season. Lol

*my coach let it be known you wont be here next year if you dont act right. Contact may not be the word but it ain't guaranteed or honored if they put you out of school.

And schools not in the power 5 can pull your scholarship anytime any reason. But again if a coach wants you gone you gone and the school ain't letting you stay. Power 5 or not.

Not at all guaranteed for 4 years. If you (as a player) dedicate yourself both on and off the court generally speaking they will be renewed. But there are a lot of cases where players and coaches grow apart and coach says it would be best if you look elsewhere. Like somebody said they are recruiting somebody else. I think this happens more at bigger programs. The pressure on players and coaches is so great. Only guarantee is coaches contract
