Wouldn’t they take a 2nd team from CCS (SI) before teams that didn’t make the section finals like SRV, Indy or Lincoln?

Swap Riordan #1 and St Joes #2 and drop #7 SRV - six team Open field with byes for Riordan and St Joes as they earned them during the regular season. I think that DLS is/was playing as well any team but after seeing Blair's ankle injury it doesn't look good for him playing (absolutely no inside knowledge - pure speculation on my part!). Putting a team like SI in the open is ridiculous IMHO as the CCS/WCAL was watered down this year.

They need to be more concrete and pick North or South but not pick and chose every year where St joseph and other central section teams go

Yeah it seems rather random doesn't it. Not sure why they don't just permanently put the Central Section in the North given all the talent / depth in the Southern Section. I assume that St Joes will be one of the top seeds in the NorCal Open this year.

I hope Riordan gets the #1 seed. A NorCal final game in Santa Maria would be terrible

Yeah, just checked their schedule. 3 of their 8 losses are to, you guessed it: SRV, Indy & Lincoln.

Other 5 are to Riordan (3) & Bells (2)

2019 saw 3 teams from SJS . 2 D1 finalist and D3 Weston Ranch
NCS with 2 teams .
And 1 CCS team. Interesting to note 18-9 mitty who lost in First round of CCS playoffs got the open Bid . SHC won the open and got 10 seed in Norcal D1
