For the first time in memory, the Little Big Game between Burlingame and San Mateo will be played at night. The 93rd iteration of this old football rivalry is now set for 7 p.m. Friday, April 16, at the Burlingame field. The game was originally slated to be played on Saturday morning, April 17. This traditional contest was first played in 1927, one year after San Mateo won the CIF state title. The Bearcats' roster was peppered with players who attended Burlingame, then a northern campus of San Mateo. The Panthers became a separate school in 1927.
