Peninsula basketball coach openings

Don’t know much about the program but I’m guessing this a terrible job ?

A bunch of coaches from both the PAL North and South leagues should step down. Almost every coach knows the opposing team's plays/sets but 80% of the coaches don't even adjust. Same thing year in year out, game in game out.

I don't recall seeing a post on this one, but it's possible that I missed it. South San Francisco coach Jesse McCowan stepped down. Ethan Kassel wrote about it two weeks ago, but the article may have been missed in all the craziness.

Article stated that Ruiz at Capuchino stepped down, but I recall a thread on here that he was forced out.

Was there ever a reason behind him stepping down? Did Patton at Aragon step down on his own as well?

Hopefully Cap and Aragon bring in fresh, smart coaches. It will be a breath of fresh air for the PAL...hopefully play a different type of game than zones and 3 pointers. Mills is another school that needs a change...its about time. Hansen has been running the same system for way too long and not willing to adjust to his players strengths and weaknesses.

Looking at the combined enrollment in the two small Pacifica public high schools, Oceana and Terra Nova (1,413 total), they don't equal the student numbers at any of the Sequoia District schools, not to mention any of the three publics in the city of San Mateo. Oceana (601 pupils) was closed for awhile, then re-opened. It might be time to consider shuttering it again, especially in light of the state's new and quite dire education funding situation. It's hard to figure how retaining both of these small entities makes economic sense at all. Terra Nova (812 students) is even smaller than Half Moon Bay High (1,045 teens).
