Pinewood gets defensive in win

Pinewood gave up 10 second half points after being tied at 27 at halftime to beat Eastside Prep 53-37 to sweep the regular season series.

Hannah Jump had 15 points and Brianna Claros added 14 for Pinewood.

Kayla Tahaafe had 12 points and Zion Gabriel had 8 points with all 20 points coming in the first half

Pinewood's half-court man defense is as solid as it gets, one of the fundamentally best in CA today.

Certainly. That goes without saying. Combine that tenacious defense with outstanding shooting and you have a formula that can compensate for a lack of low post size. Just ask St. Mary's of Stockton a year ago.
