With all the unknowns of the Open teams here is my guess for#1 seed

Open #1 Modesto Christian
D1 #1 Sheldon
D2 #1 El Cerrito
D3 #1 Weston Ranch
D4 #1 Salesian if taken open then Half Moon Bay
D5 #St Joes Alameda

TCAL ROCK division had 3 section champions and 4th team that in championship game.

No doubt the SJS was the power this year in Northern California basketball. Sheldon would be the number one seed in Division 1 if they do not get the nod for the Open. Plus Jesuit would also be a very high seed in D1.

who would you have as your eighth seed in the Open?.

Ball of fame. Good choices.

I think either Sheldon or MV get the #8 in open but more I think about it probably MV.

Larry, what about El Cerritto? To many loses? They do meet a number of criteria for open.

No on EC to open...3 loses to Salesian , 1 St Francis and 1 Sheldon knocks them behind Sal MV and Serra

Wow - not a whole lot of respect for NCS. While DLS got the top seed in the open (one of 3 NCS teams in the open), the only other NCS top seed was St. Joseph in Div-V. The top NCS team in Div-III was Miramonte at 5? Monte Vista was a 3 seed?

Why only 1 north section D2? Only 3 sjs D2 and 3 ccs D2??? S.I. Plays in ccs champ not in?
I thought ccs, NCS, and sjs get 4 and North get Chico and PV??

They got it right! Glad to see CIF put top 8 teams in open. Surprised that Sheldon got 6 seed and St. Francis got 7. In all other divisions we should compete for state championship. Open probably has no chance against Chino.

I hate the "back fill". If a team does not make the semi's of a section it should not be able to go to Norcal. Talk about watered down.

Yeah NCS was down this year. We've been spoiled big time last few seasons. Top NorCal teams this year are more clustered in SJS with sac, mc, folsom, and Sheldon. EC could still make a lot of noise in D2.
