Scott Hoyle passed away on December 28th, 2020 at the age of 48 after a four-year battle with cancer.
He was a well-respected physical education teacher at Monterey Trail High School, he loved his wife and family, and he was a good friend.
Scott was the scoreboard operator for the Monterey Trail High School football program from 2006 until he was too sick to perform those duties during the 2018 season. Scott was the cornerstone of a press box crew that has drawn compliments from the personnel at local newspapers, local broadcasters, and even ESPN professionals who were at MTHS to call the 2011 nationally televised game vs. Pleasant Grove. He was funny, he was smart, and on Friday nights he was loud. He was a huge MT football “homer,” but he ran the clock and the scoreboard with absolute integrity. His honesty, directness, and genuine humor will be missed.
