Rankings Reaction after St. Francis' win

I was also at the DLS game tonight and was not impressed with SDCC at all.
After being down 14-0 early it was all DLS 49-7. The most impressive and most concerning was how DLS did it. The DB’s were ball hawks with multiple picks and DLS only completed 2/6 passes.
High School football comes down to matchups, if you can’t stop their run game and can’t run the ball on offense, DLS will own you. This of course doesn’t bode well for Folsom, my early prediction DLS 42 Folsom 28 with the outcome never in doubt.
I thought the DLS Defense was outstanding…. 2 of the 3 TD’s SDCC scored were due to Turnovers…. A Tipped pass that was Picked at the DLS 9 (Which appeared to hit the ground) and the fumble at the DLS 35 Where SDCC hit the TB pass that #7 made a beautiful catch with the DLS defender all over him….

What really Struck me was when the 2 Big Athletic Linemen for DLS #77 and #62 were in the game on D, SDCC could not move the ball…. When they rotated at least 1 of them out SDCC seemed to have success in the run game…. Especially with #7…..

Even when DLS was down 14-0 there was a different feel to the game because DLS was taking to them physically…. It looked like just a matter of time for the offensive explosion which is what happened when they went on the 28-0 run….

Names don’t mean squat. The kid is horrible, not every pass needs to be a 100mph fastball. Heck there are 2 QB’s in the southern SJS CCAL that would start over him today.
Not overly impressed with The QB either, you are spot on about the 100 mph fastballs and 2 of the Picks never should have been thrown….

SDCC’s best player is the RB #7, that kid is Big, Strong and Fast and I think scored all 3 of their TD’s Including that Beautiful TD catch with the DLS defender all over him…. I thought him and Zeke Berry were the Best players on the field last night….

The Most Exciting player was Greer for DLS…. That Kid is Electric, reminds me of Shamir Garrett…. The only downside I have seen to him is he seems to put the ball on the ground a little bit….

Overall I though SDCC was a good team with a lot of big, physical, athletic kids, their lines were big but maybe a little out of shape which showed as the game went on….

They could win any league up here in Nor Cal except the EBAL…. I think SF may have a better line but to me SDCC could beat them…. I think it is 50/50 between any of the Top Nor Cal Teams (Except DLS) and SDCC…. And Maybe Serra…. I still think Serra is the Best team in Nor Cal Next to DLS this year…..

i keep saying it… DLS will not have any issues with Folsom. None whatsoever. They lost to a good saint Francis team who has a history of playing DLS well. It was one game! Just wait people.. Folsom will be going to the “other bowl” game this year. (And I think Folsom is a damn good team btw)

Historically, the WCAL has played DLS tough. Serra had come insanely close in recent years. They show up for that game then beat each other up later in the season, St. Francis’ game winning drive against DLS was fun to watch and they earned that win. That being said, DLS played pretty bad. Had the team that played last night, played last week, it would have been a similar result. DLS has a tough week next week and follows up with Folsom. If they when the next two games, they should return to Nor-Cal #1 despite St.Francis’ success. It will be a fun couple weeks to watch

Next week Sept 24, DLS has a bye week with some extra time to recover and prep for St Frances (e) Academy and hopefully they will emerge from that demolition derby physically unscathed and victorious ready for The Barking Dog Bowl at Folsom.
I like both upcoming games because 1) they don't fall under the cursed 1st two games of the season 2) diving head first into a competitive meat grinding game contributes to a more cohesive and competitive Spartan squad by season's end and the playoffs.
To quote the Great & Wise Cal 14: "I NEVER lose either I WIN or I LEARN "

Yes, watching the weekly rankings during the season of Friday night/Saturday HS grid iron collisions is fun but watching the game tested teams in the playoffs is funner

"They could win any league up here in Nor Cal except the EBAL.." I disagree, as I think they couldn't win the WCAL either. SF (WCAL) just beat DLS, and you do know that Serra is in the WCAL, too??

I think DLS will definitely be better than last week but I also think CC is better than SF so it will be interesting.

On Cal high sports, Tennis has an article on how DLS could possibly lose the next 3 games and he makes an interesting comment about CC, saying that this CC team is better than most recent DLS teams...and this CC lost big to Centennial correct? He is not one to downplay DLS so it will be interesting to see the outcome of this game
Well, was the game interesting?

Putting anybody ahead of SF in Norcal is simply homerism. They beat the goat period. Nobody has a win on their resume like that. Folsom hasn’t beat anybody near that caliber and won’t.
