I can understand Mac vs Amador Valley, but I think this is more of a reputation pick than anything else.

Some odd pairings... in some cases, it seems they wanted to keep divisional integrity and in others, they said "nah".

Selma in D-5A seems too high. Both SoCal teams in this division are much lower than their NorCal counterparts.

Monte Vista at -15.3 in the same division as Summerville 6.7 and Sacred Heart Prep 7.3... as if they tried to hand this to the NorCal teams.

Curious if anyone knows...

What was the criteria for how the home teams were selected?

No disrespect but both teams who lost in the open, St Francis and Pittsburg, are now being rewarded with hosting their NorCal Regional Championship game. Seems like things are getting more and more ridiculous each year.

Let me put my thoughts around this... You are allowed to advance after losing a playoff game, and now the CIF committee is allowing the losers of those Open games to have home field advantage.

I wonder how many football fans outside of NorCal are laughing at us.

Most likely SOS was included in the criteria for selection. Which site (Calpreps?, MaxPreps?, Cal-Hi?) dunno.

Perhaps when SJS puts Folsom, Oakridge, Rocklin, Grant, Manteca, St. Mary’s, CC & say 12 Bridges in an open division so that only ONE moves on, the other sections will be up for having only one of their top teams move on.

Home sites are based on a rotation and trying to spread them out around the region. Which is why Folsom travels to Pitt this year after Pitt went to Folsom last year and the two WCAL teams are split (one home and one road).

Thx Streak..

That makes sense with Folsom and Pitt. But when I look at Grant something doesn't add up. This is the third year in a row this has happened to them. We had to play the Regional championship game at El Cerrito, at Rocklin, and now at St Francis.

Maybe the rotation doesn't involve the zip code 95838 or 95815.

Anyways, my bad fellas, this time is meant to celebrate the accomplishment of the kids and there respective teams. I'll move on.

Good luck to all the NorCal teams for making it this far

Too consistent to be a coincidence!
