It's my perception that most coaches and kids are more focused on winning their section title. The regional seems set up for an eventual state championship game, but it's not there yet.
I read at least one winning section coach say the section is what his team was focused on.
Oh, everyone will try to win once they get between the lines and it is good experience for the players, especially for the underclassmen. But I don't see it as a life-and-death type of thing. Or am I underestimating the importance of the regional?
