The semifinal round shows the overall strength of the CCS section this year. The SJS section did not fair very well in this round. The CCS section now leads with 56% of their teams getting to the final championship game.
DLS seems to be marching toward another regional championship. Serra will need to play their very best game to have a chance.
Roseville is having a very convincing run as #1 in D3. They dispatched Morro Bay and Fowler, both CS Section teams, 9-4 and 8-2 respectively. They host Rancho Cotate tomorrow.
Five teams had shut out games this round. They include De La Salle, Serra, St. Francis, Santa Clara amd Stevenson.
Etna, a NS Section team, has played only other NS Section teams. They will have an opportunity to play a non-NS Section game when hosting CCS Stevenson.
Speaking for same section games, there was only one same section match up in the first round. This round saw three such matchups, CCS Los Gatos @ Serra, SJS Lodi @ Yuba City and NS Los Molinos @ Etna.
