That is bad news for the Cardinals. Are they replacing from within the program? Very nice program
CN did a national search last time when Cronin left and found Sanchez in Florida. They will do that type of search again this time around. The CN community just needs to have patience and let the committee do their job whether it's another coach from outside the state or someone closer to home. The program will be fine.
I think the new coach will be named in the next week or so? Keep hearing the same name over and over as the front runner. If true maybe Newman goes to 3 stripes on their helmets 🤣?
is he going to be able to recruit in Santa Rosa the way he was able to recruit in Santa Ana though? My guess is no.
Newman has always attracted kids. Put a big name in there and they will draw kids.
They have good players, and they’ll keep attracting good players. CN is also hiring a full time strength/conditioning job as well, job is posted.
There is a little competition with Windsor pulling a few wealthy kids who can afford CN and St Vincent Petaluma making inroads in CN territory.
CN doesn’t really give “full” scholarships or what not like Trinity. Contrary to popular belief no one in NorCal does on any large scale.
The population base is much smaller than Orange County. Marin/Sonoma/Napa you’re lucky if a handful sign D1 each year in football straight from High School.
Ceiling is going to be just behind DLS then Pitt (most years), then whoever is the EBAL power (now SRV) then CN/Marin C.
Agree on the ceiling. Yes population base and number of athletes is much smaller than the OC, but it’s all proportional. They will not have 5-6 D-1 blue chips. But then again the caliber of athletes you will be facing at MC/Windsor and even SRV/Pitt/DLS is not the same as going against SJB/OLU/Servite and CC, so you will not really need to bring in that many more than they have been.

Maybe after pushing in the SoCal fast lane, McManus is opting for simpler lane of competition. Like dropping down from the Formula-1 circuit to the NASCAR/INDY CAR circuit. The cars still have 4 wheels and a steering wheel but the pressure and attention is somewhat reduced. The drive to excel and win is still their but the challenge is not at the National level. Achieving Regional wins and perhaps finding and developing some 'Diamonds in the Rough' can still be rewarding. And if this level of competition becomes less challenging, he can still pedal his skills at a higher level else where.

Right but relative to the area. Not like Serra who who pulls kids from all over the Bay Area.
Not that McManus won’t be successful but if you’re bringing a guy with a “National Championship” under his belt you bet your ass there are people within that community who are going to expect him to take it to Pitt and De La Salle very soon. Santa Rosa doesn’t have BART or CalTrain to my knowledge though.
I have not heard those as expectations from anyone within CN prior to the hire or since?
Now I have heard, “We need a coach who can beat MC” from people before Sanchez finally got over that hump this year. I think that is realistic goals and level they will be shooting for most years not Pitt and DLS.
