Riordan-Serra Fireworks show

I meant to post in The Serra vs. Riordan thread earlier this week but I didnt have time to.

I was going to say what is now evident which is that Riordan is legit. I'll now say the other interesting thing that I was going to say which is that Riordan is the best team to come out of San Francisco in a really long time.

I coach football in The PAL and we saw Riordan this summer at a passing camp. Their size, physicality and team speed is friggin ridiculous and to top that all off it was very evident that Fordon has 110% control of those boys. I followed that Serra team that lost to Del Oro in The D1 sectional game closely and knew a handful of kids on that team personally. This Riordan team, in my opinion, is better than that Serra team. That Serra team was incredible but this Riordan team is far more physical than that Serra team and that's saying a lot because that Serra team had some straight dogs on both sides of the ball.

I see them winning The WCAL and making a serious push for a SBG bid.

110% is mathematically impossible but I got your point

One note on Saturday's record-busting WCAL affair at CCSF: A key for Riordan (in spite of the final score) was its ability to cover at least three of Serra's tall receivers (Bishop, Uniacke, Quinn) one-on-one. Those three were pretty much shut down by Riordan's excellent secondary. It limited Nunn's ability to spread his passes around. Monroe, of course, is a load for any defense, including special team coverages. At some point, it would not be a surprise to see Serra move Nunn to RB/WR and insert Damelio at QB.

Riordan looked good and explosive. I wonder how many guys on Riordan can play collegiately...

Lee,

I think it is where at Colegiately?

There are120 Div.1 programs and twice that amount Div.II & III. All with the outcome of a degree. So now u do the math....

A Big Congrats to the jackrabbits!...Unfortunately, I couldn't be there to even watch my nephew play since I was out of town.

Gee...What a coaching (staff) change does in a single year! Aren't you folks glad they got rid of the guy with the choo-choo whistle?

The Crusader team is indeed the real deal...SHP, Mitty, & Serra ("connecting the dots").

TS,

The focus on the true FB student/athlete has not been at Riordan since the Langridge Era. Instead of being happy someone is gone, let's praise the Three Amgos!!!

My approach is the same as in Dallas when Mrs. Ewing woke up and Bobby reminder her she was dreaming
