TY for the idea, armchairgoat…

Since my Campo game got aced, I’m watching the Riordan-SI game…

Riordan is likely the favorite in this one, but this rivalry goes wayyyyyyyyyy back…

One of these days, maybe I’ll get to the Riordan gym in-person, but for now I’m watching on YouTube…. Had the cable guy out today, and he replaced a bad coax…. Maybe I’ll have no freezes today. (Haven’t so far, but on the Web bigtime since noon!)

As I expected, it looks like Riordan has a rather obvious size advantage…

2-0 Riordan…. next time down, a lob to Seck would have been spectacular, but denied.

Seck swat… pass down to Vaihola, short J falls. 4-0. SI’s Toledo scores…. 4-2.

Nice move by Riordan, couldn’t hear name…. 6-2. Fast break off a block, 8-2…

Another steal, Sensely fouled on a shot, 2 FT’s… Wilhite enters game for first time…. Sensely 1 for 2. 9-2.

Vaihola baseline J… 11-2, SI time out.

SI reallllllyyyyy needs to find some traction.

Vaihola lefty hook, fouled… and it goes. FT goes… 14-2. Gettin ugly fast….

SI score, ball-fakes Seck…. Riordan right back with a 3. 17-4.

Corner 3 for Riordan…. 20-4.

SI gets to the line…. FT’s split…. 20-5.

Nice drive, Riordan score… 22-5

SI trying for last shot of quarter…. 3-ball bounces off. 22-5 going into the 2nd.

SI scores 2 FT’s, but Vaihola with another lefty hook…. 24-7. SI back with a score… 24-9.

But there aint no stopping Vailhola at the moment…. 26-9.

SI’s #3 fouled, 1 and 1…. both go. 26-11.

Sensely for 3… BAM! 29-11.

Kennaly scores for SI…. 29-13.

Seck gets a pair of offensive boards, is hacked…. FT’s split. 30-13.

Nie SI ball movement, Riordan foul. 2 FT’s split…. 30-14.

Riordan’s Woodson for 3…. BAM! 33-14.

Nice pass in to Seck… 35-14.

A rare Riordan mistake, turnover break leads to an SI score…. Vaihola scores inside…. 37-16.

Vaihola full-court baseball pass to Sensely, who JAMS it home…. 39-17.

SI back with a 3…. 39-20.

Vaihola is beasting here…. 41-20.

Nice pass to Seck, baby hook for 2…. 43-20. SI can’t score… Wilhite on a fast break, layup at the buzzer. 45-20.

Vaihola picks up where he left off…. misses a shot, gets own board, goes in and scores.

Hubbard scores…. 49-20.

TY, Jordan!

Wilhite scores from inside the key…. 51-20.

Nice Vaihola pass hi-lo to Seck…. 53-20.

Wilhite after a steal, layup… 55-20.

Vaihola top of the key, no prob…. 57-20. Steal, Sensely with the Euro step…. 59-20.

BY this point, SI needs to put Steph Curry in. they get a 3, tho…. 59-23. Nice drive for Riordan…. 61-23.

omg, that ain’t fair…. Seck for 3. 64-23.

Seck flies over everyone and gets a putback…. 66-23.

SI hits a 3 ball… John Squire. 66-26.

Annnnnd. that’s the end of the 3rd q. 40-point lead… is that Mercy Rule time?

Kiddman, take the rest of the night off and enjoy the stream on your improved internet!

Another 3 ball for SI. Here they come (yeah, right). Ok, I’ll lay off now….

Let’s see what other games I can find…

It would have been a great game if Riordan and Campo were at full strength a couple of weeks ago…

Campo just beat DLS last night in a game ending shot. It appears that Riordan can be up & down, Campo is a 10-0 with no excuses...”next man up is real in Lamorimda”

Riordan, when at full strength, is the best team in the Bay Area, followed by Campo, Dublin, and a couple others.

Watching the game last night, SI had no answers for Vaihola. That guy has improved a ton over the past couple of years, and I think Fresno St. may have gotten a steal with him.

Seck once again, I don't get it. He could be so dominant and use his height, and hes not using it. I saw him hit a 3-pointer, which is awesome. But with his height, he needs to develop a strong inside game first, before shooting 3's. At the college level, what he's doing right now just won't cut it.

Zion Sensley to me is the most impressive. He seems ok with letting King-Wilhite run the Point, and playing SG or SF. The fact he is so tall and so young, I mean I said Wiseman for Seck before, this guy has the ability to be a Ben Simmons-like player. Going to be kinda crazy in a year or two when Riordan's PG will be taller than 95% of teams centers in the Bay Area!

a few things Ayalar.

GOOD game last night. Complete one. Riordan had 5 players in double figures with Robert V leading the way. Rob would be the MVP in league play if they're were awards. A great inside outside threat.

Seck is what he is. And people on these boards put to much into it. He is a run and jump big. A poor man's Clint Capella. If he focuses on this and getting stronger he has a shot at being in the Association. He will never be Olajawon. But he is a good defender and has great athleticism for a 7 footer. He has been working hard and continues to everyday. Sometime it's timing and things click at different times for different players. It will for Seck and Riordans is a good nurturing spot for him to get better.

Riordans pg is #3. leads team in assists, steals, etc.. Always guards other players pg or best player. After that it's #2. He is more of a scoring guard.

Sensley is a wing. He will never be a pg. doesnt have the feel. Pgs are made early in elementary school. They aren't made in High school. It's a feel thing. Feel for the game. When to pass. When to shoot. When to facilitate. Sensley is a scorer. Thats what he wants to do. He is a special talent though and will get better over time. By his junior year he will be the best player in Norcal and maybe in state in his class. But it will be as a wing. Not a PG.

What's the deal with playoffs in the WCAL and/or CCS this year? Does Riordan have to clear their playoff schedule with their star players AAU clubs first ;-).

Seck has so much potential. I don't doubt what you are saying about him, its just tough that I watch games and he can't seem to dominate inside. At this point he needs to work on that inside game 100%. I agree he can't be Olajuwon, but heck Clint Capela would be awesome. You can't teach size, and strength, and Mor has both those traits.

Sensley I am so impressed by it isn't even funny. I know its against SI, but to see that windmill dunk. Wow. Impressive. I 100% agree, for his class hell be tops in Norcal, and probably a top 5 player in California and a Top 50 player in America. 6'7 already, if he develops his outside shot, this kid will be a stud. And he could easily hit 6'10-7 feet if he continues on this growth spurt.

King-Wilhite the PG is small, but crafty. Will be interesting to see if he continues to get offers. I believe he has an offer from Washington St.?

May need to also ask Mitty’s , SHP’s Serra’s players and others as they were playing club ball, too. 😉

Mor's line has been good this season averaging a double-double and at least 1-3 blocks a game. The kid is raw and just needs to work on his game and gain more experience. He's starting to slow some things down as he rushes his putbacks when he doesn't need to. Playing with Rob this year will help both low post players. His 3's are when he's open and no one is guarding him. Nothing wrong with that...
