Riordan Wins 57th Annual Crusader Classic

They had 2 at a time. IN THOSE years. 2013/2014/2015. AND IN some years they didnt have any. YOU do not know every bodies situation. AND Things do change on the fly....

having 4 basketball boarders at one time that seems to be a new thing, no? Direct reflection that Riordan isn’t cashed strapped. 2020 season scholarships $$ given out by Riordan Basketball = Impressive

The Riordan plan is very smart. Use a piece of the boarding component to bolster the high-profile basketball program which, if it wins a lot, should generate lots of free PR and, thus, enrollment overall. Combine that with the addition of girls and Riordan's previously chronic enrollment problem could become a distant memory.

One thing we all know, those 4 young men boarding from the basketball team didn’t pony up 58k a year to board. If you believe they did, I have a bridge I wanna sell you. BTW It’s fantastic the diocese and donors are creating opportunities for these kids, don’t be so defensive.

I’ve said this is previous post, Riordan is set up to become a dominant force in the Bay Area and who knows with the money flowing it should be even easier to get there. Would love to see Riordan on the national stage in some preseason tourneys.

superle what preseason tourneys will you be playing in next season?

All these kids in san Francisco and they gotta go to Africa to get athletes??!?! The rebels and the soldiers ain't good enough??!?!

Most [not all but majority], Sf rebel kids go to SHCP. That started around 2005/2006, and I know how that started. Soldiers. That's an Oakland outfit.

EIGHTY percent of kids from this years 2020 team are from SF/Peninsula....

CLARK-Uncle was a former ARHS student and has been a b-ball coach at school last 6 or 7 years. Where else was J Clark gonna go?

Then riny, chan. SECK. Ok...You know where they are from and it was luck in a way how they got to school.

It was a confluence of things that happened. AND glad it did. Riordan has always been a working class catholic school from its inception. EVEN until today. THEY don't send school buses out to San Mateo and Marin County to pick up students. OR GET kids from Presidio and the Marina/richmond.

They largely come from the Ocean View-Lake View, Excelsior/ Glen Park /94124/94134. AND a few kids from the Western Addition/Haight area. Daly City/Pacifica and the beginning of the peninsula.

WITH the dorms, if it was up to me, they should try to get a boarding student/athlete every other year.

BEST believe I am hearing that the school in the sunset is looking into starting a boarding program.. [they already started a middle school...I guess got to get them young] And this is nothing new. BELLERMINE had dorms in the 1970s.

It's not a big deal to me. I wish the leadership could be more proactive in my opinion In getting more prospective students into the school.
