Hans de Lannoy SI Article

Popular long time EBAL boys & girls coach Hans de Lannoy has passed away, after a long fight with cancer. He will be sorely missed. For the past 10 seasons including this one, Coach Del has been on the bench as an assistant for the SRV boys team.

Prior to that he had coached the girls’ teams at SRV for many years and also at Dublin. He began coaching boys in the late 70s at his alma mater Cubberley, and Gunn HS in Palo Alto. He then took the boys job at SRV and coached there for many seasons. He also coached the boys team at California HS before moving over to the girls game.

Thank you for sharing this and his picture . Definitely recognize him. Sending his friends and his family lots of love. We appreciate his mental strength for being able to coach so

Hard to be blindsided by the passing of a 72-year-old who had cancer for seven years, but Hans was always so upbeat you could honestly forget what he was battling! Very glad to have gotten to know him over the last few years.
