Rose City Cardinal Newman Tournament

Championship game tonight at 5:30 PM betweeen Redwood and Cardinal Newman. Both teams are highly competitive and feature some college-level ballplayers. Redwood won bracket games by big margins and feature balanced scoring; five players in double figures last night.

Redwood is a really solid team with good size. I think they are the favorite. They only have a small loss to an excellent Branson team who looks to be a legit state title team in D5. Newman has football players back which give them more size and athletes. Should be a very good game.

Redwood lead early 23-13 but CN guard Froesch was lights out in the second quarter to take a lead into the second half. Strong team play and continued hot shooting by CN in the second half while Redwood struggles to find consistent scoring. CN wins convincingly 72-52.

Caught the stream on YSN365, Newman’s defense following that initial Redwood run was excellent. Newman’s starting five looked very long and athletic. Redwood is a good team, solid win for Newman.

Big win for Newman against a very good Redwood team. I caught the stream as well. Having Leberthon back from football is a huge pickup. If they play like that they should run the table this year in the NBL.
