This is a going to be a dog fight. I plan on being over at Treat Blvd for this game.

Sac High had so many mismatches against Folsom. Young had his way with a much smaller Folsom team. Terrell used length to bother some of the smaller Folsom guards. I think a lot of that gets neutralized against DLS. I just don't see those type of mismatches.

Udenyi goes 6"6 225 and is equally as physical as Young. Not saying he's the player Young is but he will not be over matched in the post. Macaruch is a leaner kid but he's 6"7 and has length. I don't think you will see the mismatches here like last night.

Ratinho is the same size as Terrell at 6'5. Both are long and athletic.

Peters goes 6"4 205 or so. Again another college size guard who can double the post and recover on the smaller sac high guards.

Sac high has some advantages on the quickness side with there perimeter guards (HINES/GONZALES).

DLS really needs to keep in the 50's. If it gets into a running game its Sac highs. When Folsom controlled the tempo after about the first 5 minutes of period 1 all the way until mid 4th it was there game. After the 5 min mark in the 4th Sac High ran away and Folsom couldn't catch.

Going with the Home team.

I also plan to be there... getting in will be difficult. Show up early. Or do what I'm gonna do, call DLS Monday morning and also watch their website like a hawk.

Considering how much difficulty DLS had with Salesian's quickness, I have my doubts about this one after touting DLS all season.

I'll still go with DLS to win it 56-55.

Kiddmann- Keep us posted on your success getting tickets. If I have to I will show up at there sports booth window early as well. Sac High travels well. I'm sure they will be represented and then some. Will they rethink playing at St Marys? They've done that in the past for semis.

DLS could lose at home. I was at the Jesuit game back when Presley played and Jesuit shocked them. You never know.....

Udenyi goes 6"6 225 and is equally as physical as Young. That is very generous. He is maybe 6"4" .

De la discipline will win them the game.

Here's the latest off the DLS website:

Basketball: Spartans Defeat Salesian, Play Sacramento Here Tuesday 7:00 PM
(2016-03-13) Congratulations to the basketball team as they advanced with their victory over Salesian Friday. We will play Sacramento Tuesday @ 7:00 @ De La Salle. Gates will open at 5:30PM. Tickets - $9/adults and $5/other. Tickets will be sold at the bookstore Monday and Tuesday and at the door (My emphasis added).

My advice is: If you can drop by the school Monday, do so. Tix will go fast, probably faster than they did for Friday's game. I have no idea whether they'll hold some tickets for Sac fans or not.

This is only the 2nd time I've seen ticket presale info like this put up on DLS website (first time was for the Salesian game, soon after I had called the bookstore for info), and the first time I've ever seen 'em put it there on a weekend. Maybe they're finally listening.

CIF should force the move of this game. This is / supposed to be the best versus the best. Not hosting at a venue to hold the fans you know are coming should not be allowed.. Are you listening @CIFSTATE

Name one player in the history of basketball that was ever listed at the height they actually were? I'm a legit 6"2 and I've stood eye to eye at many of these 6"4 kids. I've walked by Udenyi and he's a big kid. Might have the biggest head I've ever seen. Maybe he's 6"4 or 6"5 but he will not be man handled by Young.

I know 2 players who under list themselves.

Kevin Garnett is not 6'11. He's actually close to 7"1.
Kevin Durant is not 6"9. He's closer to 6"11

Drayond Green is about 6"5 1/2

Oh and most girls that are 6"2-6"3 are usually taller. There is something odd with the female race that bigger isn't better. Might have been caused by the male race.

Cif Rules state that a certain percentage of tix must be available for the visitors. Cif rules also say 2nd round open venue must be 1800-2000 seats. Sac could probably demand a larger venue if needed.

Due to St. Mary's getting into the NIT and playing at home at St. Mary's College on Tuesday at 8pm, this will eliminate that venue for the De la Salle - Sacramento High game.

It was a 50/50 chance St. Mary's would be play in the NIT Tuesday night or Wednesday night and it happened to be Tuesday night.

Everyone wishes it were Wednesday so people can go and watch both.

Maybe they can meet in the middle and play at Solano College, but that will not happen, but would be a great spot off the 680/780/80 connection.

I'm sure lots of phone calls will be made... Problem is no gyms around here are much bigger... Maybe DVC has a couple hundred more, but that is probably not worth the logistics hassle. Campo maybe? probably not quite as much seating as DVC, but a bit more than at DLS... Maybe Dublin or Dougherty Valley... Further away for Sac, but lots more room. Freedom's gym is practically as big as Newark Memorial's...? Maybe American Canyon?

I don't see anything happening at this point guys. Its Monday and the game is tomorrow night. In the east bay its St Mary's or nothing. Maybe CAL State East Bay... The gym hold at least 3k but its a logistical nightmare down 880.

BTW, St Mary's got hosed again. 27-5? Hopefully with Jordan Ford in the future they can win the conference tourney. That is the only way you get 2 in from that league these days.

One thing is for sure.... I WILL BE IN THE HOUSE!!! Kidmann32 where you sitting?

Other Open games will be held at JC's. Is DVC a possibility for the DLS-SAC game? DVC holds 2000

Los Positas College a good option. Newer facility and just used for JC Championships

Just got off the phone with DLS Bookstore. Tickets are on sale NOW. No sign of any relocation for the game. Of course it's IS early, but the lady on the phone said that acton at the bookstore is "very mellow thus far". I have an idea that'll change around lunchtime... I'm taking advantage of my proximity to the school and going over there now before it gets busy.

My preferred spot is a few rows up from the scorer's table near the center. The presence of lots of visiting-team fans spilling over from behind their bench last time had me slide over toward the DLS bench; wouldn't be surprised if the same happens tomorrow night.

No way DLS holds 1800. This game should have been moved Friday night after their win. Every school that may not meet seating requirements submits an alternate venue list. At this point, I doubt it's moved.

Got my ticket... Lady at the bookstore said that sales have been slow thus far, and she questioned whether all that many would come "all the way down from Sacramento" on a Tuesday. I told her, "Oh, they'll show... Big!".

As I said a few posts ago, if you wanna go to this game and you can find the time to drive by and pick up a ticket today. do it. Bookstore closes at 3:15. If you're coming from Sac tomorrow, take the day off work ("I don't <sniffle> know what's <koff> coming over me, Boss! I felt <hack, koff> fine this morning...) and come down to Concord during school hours and get your tix... Then go eat somewhere or something and come back. (Zachary's Chicago-style pizza in Pleasant Hill is incredible!) Gym doors scheduled to open at 5:30.

I will be by before 315 today. Thanks Kiddmann. Yeah why the hell would you give a crap if you were DLS and pushed to move the game to some random place like Los Positas, DVC, or even St Mary's? Because it accomdates us? Ha ha. Home court. Huge advantage. Plus I love watching games in a HS gym with that atmosphere. Sac High vs Folsom was the most electric atmosphere I've been at in a long time.

Modesto Christian has a cracker jack box gym. Are they moving that game for Sheldon? Doubt it.

Too bad MC moved the game... that gym is as good an atmosphere there is in Norcal... Holiday Hoops games there when they play the nightcap are awesome... remember seeing a surprisingly close 1st round game where Reeves Nelson's 40 pts had enough support from others to top Allen Huddleston's 50... awesome atmosphere where the whole town comes out to support.

CIF STATE pandering to the private school with the high profile. Modesto did the right thing from the outset..

wow! Didn't know that. (About MC) Well I got my DLS ticket. Go over to the box office. (bookstore). Plenty left.

Will be great games Spartans want to control tempo, dragons want to play fast. Hard to believe these teams have not played each other during swafford era, but have had epic scrimmages. That gym is going to be busting at the seams!

Pass first- You got that right. If the game is in the 55-60 range I like DLS. Folsom did an amazing job for over 1/2 of the dragon game. There was a 18 minute span in regulation where Sac high was held to 20 pts. The mid of the 4th & OT were a different story. Sac high went bonkers.
The thing that worries me is Alloco's teams were much more disciplined. He wouldn't let the tempo get out of control. DLS this year has a tendency to try and match the pace. Not wise against Sac High. Always interesting too is how they call the game. Young gets into foul trouble Sac high is doomed. No depth on the frontline. Going to be fun.
