Salesian beat MC in first round of the Norcal Open tonight 66-53. It was just the 3rd time all time Salesian notched a win in the open and 2 of those were against Modesto Christian .

Yes I thought the offense at MC works for Baby Barkley, great young man . Salesian plays a different kind of system. Alvin is a Yale commit, and a better system player. Elias is a top 150 player in the country, a top 2 way player in the 2026 class. Carlton is 2 sports athlete with huge upside, most athletic player in Northern California. If you have kid who want both academic and basketball, Salesian is the place.
Sykes was dominate just like he was last year. Takes more than one guy however. Would have liked Salesian to go after more and tire him out, but it worked out in the end.
Liked Mellis’ huge lineup/rotation and keeping everyone fresh. Caused a ton of TOs. Shades of last year’s squad.
