Arguably the best game of the day will be played at 2pm in a rematch of O'Dowd and Salesian as O'Dowd looks to repay Salesian for an early season loss. With both teams playing at a high level, this should be a fun one to watch!
Best of Luck to all the teams still competing!!!

The only game of the day

At the half Salesian 30 BOD 21. Game started with BOD out scoring Salesian 13-4. Angel Jackson has to have at least 8-9 blocks thus far.

Wow ! Angel can be very dominate. And Salesian is a good and scrappy team. The question is should they go on to upset BOD will they be then rewarded one of the Open Division's bottom seeds or higher?

37-33 Salesian at the end of the 3rd.

kkross22,

It appears you sent a text to the Salesian coaching staff and team about the possible Open Division bottom seed reward? LOL.....
Sounds like what we all expected, a good game.

Final 46-42 Salesian. It wasn't easy, props to BOD for putting up one heck of a fight. I told you guys not to count Salesian out!

Now the question is does that earn Salesian a trip to the Open Division? I would think the fact they beat BOD twice and won the Sectional crown they may even grab a seed as high as the 4th? But with their record would they be a 6th, 7th, or 8th seed?

Congratulations to Salesian !

I just want to give mad props to Salesian.

They just bring it in the big games every year....WOW!!!

Their coaches do a GREAT job...and honestly from my interactions with the coaches, they are really good people and I like them, so I am happy for them....and their kids? What can i say? They are ballplayers and the big stage does not scare them.

GREAT JOB Salesian:)

Big win ... and committee now has first big decision: put 2 D3 teams in or give O'Dowe a trip to state finals and probably a state title.

O'Dowd's 12 point win over Pinewood early in the season as well as placing higher than Arizona state champion Valley Vista in the Eastside Coaches vs Cancer Classic will make it hard to keep them out. Pinewood beat Salesian and just gave Mitty a close game plus a blowout of SHC and O'Dowd is the only team in CA to beat them.

Yeah it's a mess. I think only 1 and 2 are locks. Unless CW is put in the North, then 1,2,3 are locks. I guess determining if there will be 6 teams or 8 teams will also matter. Im sure there are about 4 or 5 teams hoping 6 teams only and adding CW to the North which will make it 5. That way the bubble teams can avoid the Open and fight for a division state title instead.

Despite what those who don't know or don't care to acknowledge think, coaching matters a whole lot. And I agree with or without the Moore sisters the Salesian coaching staff continues to properly develop and prepare the team come crunch time. They run an offense which allows and encourages players to attack the defense. And it is not just 1, 2, or 3 players. The scoring load can come in a variety of ways allowing others to get involved inside and out. And they just compete on both sides of the ball. I believe that is a recipe for success. Congratulations again to Salesian !
