The CIF is broken. When Clear Lake, a public school with 390 kids, gets bumped to D4 and loses to Lincoln, a school with over 2000 kids, should be playing for the D5 title or should have at least been in that bracket. A school like that may not see NorCals for several years unlike the private schools. Congrats to Arbuckle and San Domenico, but that should be Clear Lake playing in that game.

Not saying they would have but they deserved the shot as a public school with limited experience and history.

This is the system and unfortunately this is just how it works out. At this point the seeds essentially just gives the higher team a home game. Your opponent could be anybody, anywhere, anytime....just depends on how CIF feels like seeding you that Sunday. There is literally no explanation given as to how they decide which teams go where other than the most basic of explanations.
