Manteca vs Riordan should be a good battle. Riordan's guard play is outstanding right now. Manteca's size and 3pt shooting will definitely cause problems,

Stuart Hall 70 to 65 winner

Great HS Playoff atmosphere @ the Crusader Forum on a stormy night in the City as the gym was packed(great turnout from Placer!), the band was in form, the fans were supportive and the teams came ready to play.
The game was tight throughout the first period ending in a Crusader full court defensive flurry that brought them back to take a 1pt lead after 1qtr. Placer was solid in its man-to-man and had a very good defensive scheme to limit Stansberry and Chun from open looks on the perimeter...Teams traded buckets/defensive stacked in the 2nd qtr with the Crusaders holding on to their 1pt lead at the half. Placer kicked off the 2nd half with some nice plays for scores and went up as much a 6 pts. Riordan scrambled back to tie it up to start off the 4th. Crusaders tighten the defense and go full court with a 2 man trap resulting in a picked up tempo and several turnovers for a mini scoring run for the home team highlighted by a Jason Smith steal and dunk. The game was physical throughout with Riordan's Smith and Stansberry going to the bench to rest forcing Coach Buck to go to his bench. Riordan's reserves came through and actually sustained its lead with good ball movement and defense. Last 5 minutes of the game was mostly at the ft line for the Crusaders who made just enough to earn the win. Final score could have been more if not for the several misses. Congrats to Placer as they finished with the most wins in a season for their program in spite of losing their best player in the preseason. Crusaders will need to continue their lock down defense and keep the game uptempo to earn a win against the giant Manteca bigs. Also will need to hit their ft's lije their perfect effort against Gunderson. Riordan with their losing record/#4 seed, proving their doubters wrong at this point with another deep NorCal run done with excellent team play and led by Coach Buckner and his staff.
