Seven seniors will play their final regular-season home game tonight for the Cougars. Three are starters, Aidan Mahaney, Matt Radell, and Cade Bennett.

Also, Gabe Johnson, Justin Yasukochi, Justin Chan and Tyler Vineyard will play their last home game tonight…

Of course, all seven are hoping to play in a whole bunch of postseason games, mostly here in the Cougars’ Lair.

Right now, the Coug frosh are takin’ care of business , leading Las Lomas by 32 mid-4th quarter.

Kiddman, and idea where Aidan ranks on points? He has to be over 2000 for his career. He’s never been a 25ppg guy but since fresh year always put up 15-18ppg

Finally, the Cougs get a little air…. 37-32 after 3, and it could have been more…. A near half-court bomb by a Coug at the buzzer just bounced out.

#10 on LL can really shoot it. Dunno what grade he’s in, but he’ll be one to check out on Varsity next season.

I just perused MaxPreps briefly, and Aiden played in 31 games as a frosh and as a soph. Last year, due to Covid and injuries, he just played in 6 games. This year, he’s played in all 23. So a total of 91 games going into tonight.

So if we use say 17 pts per game, which is probably about right but conservative, that comes to roughly 1,547 points, with a couple of regular season games, NCS & NorCal left to play.

Varsity…. Cougs are 22-1 and LL is 9-14. Despite those numbers, LL is not that bad a team, but they just have the misfortune of playing in the really, really strong DFAL.

The Cougs beat LL 69-46 back in January.

It being Senior night, I’m guessing the seniors that don’t usually play all that much will get lots of minutes, possibly making the expected result a little bit closer…. But the Cougs should be able to handle this comfortably.

Gabe Johnson ball fake to get free for a 3…. It goes! 24-5…. And the rout is ON!.

LL finally breaks the run, but Naffziger rebounds a miss and scores…. 28-7.

Now 28-9 after a turnover…

Foul underneath, LL gets a pair of FT’s…. Both good. 28-11.

Aidan’s back in, and scores off a nifty move…. 30-11.

LL gets a bucket…. 30-13

reat pass to Vineyard inside, he scores…. 32-13.

Corner 3 for LL. 32-16.

Mansour relocates, hits a 2 at the buzzer…. 34-16 at the half.

That’s a little less than I would have thought but I bet you are in close. Unselfish kid who could get 25 anytime he wants. I was just curious.
