I haven't gotten to any high school games this year worth writing about. Last night however I went to the Serra at Valley Christian bb game. At first it seemed like it was going to be a Serra blowout at they led 10-0 midway first quarter. VC made a nice comeback on some three point shooting. If memory serves me correctly VC tied it up as late as the third quarter. Up to this point, Jack Wilson (IMO), carried Serra. He was a monster on the boards, tip-ins, reverse layins which surprised me, he showed some quickness. His aggressiveness bodes well for CCS and next year. Another surprise for me was John Besse. A very strong presence inside, much like Wilson, his board work was impressive. Wilson and Besse stats were (17/10 & 13/8). The key to Serra in CCS will be the decision making of the guards. When VC made their run, Serra's guards didn't make good decisions. That will need to change but I'm sure Rapp will fix that.
