Particularly liked the brief article about the Coaches. Good, intelligent coaching is the starting point as well as one of the four corners of a successful program.......1)smart coaching, 2)administrative program support, 3)talented ( either innate or well taught) athletes and 4) parental buy in, who back the program of their student-athletes and their coaches.

A 25 player team seems pretty excessive. Would like to see first, second and third team of 5 players each. I guess in this era where everyone gets a participation trophy that's the way we go.

Not to take anything away from Mr. Wilhite but my POY would be Mahaney.

Jordan, when you post the Chronicle tabs, they only give you a ten second peak, Then you have to be a subscriber. Do you know how to actually read the articles without gettting shut out?

Here's wishing you great hoops

It’s a good thing Elk Grove was the top seed in D2 rather than being ranked higher such as one of the Open (14) or D1 (32) teams, or they may not have garnered the POY and Coach of the Year awards. Outstanding season by EG and a great D2 run but even the Joe Davidsons take “State Champion” at face value rather than it representing the 47th best team in the state in the current format.
