Few updates.

Folsom is just a lot better than the next best team in this league. (when they are at full strength)

Oak Ridge loses at home 68-63 to Del Oro. OR has lost 3 in a row and is 5-8 since a cupcake preseason schedule ended over the holidays. Disappointing season continues for the Trojans considering all the returnees. DO was less talented but played harder.

Folsom handles business on the road at Rocklin. 74-56. As I've stated before when Folsom is healthy they have the talent to beat anybody in norcal.

I think on any given night a team like Sheldon, Folsom, CC, Bellarmine, and MC could knock off Salesian. In a series I will take Salesian all day. But in a 32 minute HS games the teams above could win.

Salesian showed in Gridley they were a step better than the above mentioned teams. Then they played MC and beat them. I saw their effort against SJM and that pretty much sold me. A "motivated" Salesian is Insane! They put the clamps on one of the best scorers in country. He was frustrated and shocked by their agressivness on defense. James takes his game to another level in monster games. You need multiple d1 caliber guards to beat them.

Passfirst, I don't disagree with you. I'm just saying they can be beat by one of those teams on a given night. But you are right they are the cream. I mean they just squeaked past a very good St Pats team a few weeks back and early in the year Paly played them very close all the way to the end. Bellarmine is my dark horse. Love that program.

Once again Legend, you are spot on. All of these teams can beat each other on any given night. No one is truly head and shoulders above the rest.

Passfirst although I agree with you about how good Salesian is please don't use Gridley as any barometer. Some teams played minus players and being first one or two games of the season. Heck even St Mary's only lost to Salesian by 8. On any given night..........

They are hands down the best defensive team and I agree with passfirst you need
multiple d1 guards that can handle pressure and finish. But even if there offense was
to struggle on any given night there defense is always going to show up.

Just a really well oiled machine (salesian). Kids play hard and well coached program. Salesian is top few in the state right now. Who is considered #1? Bishop Monty again?

Monty is 25-0 and ranked #4 in the country by MaxPreps last time I looked...

They've only had four games where they won by single digits.

I used Gridley because most of the squads mentioned were centrally located. I also know which teams were missing guys. That's why I believe only 2 of the mentioned teams have a shot to beat them. Or a team with an elite big, which no one in Norcal has right now.

@Larry, you posted previously that Oak ridge was a well coached team. What are your thoughts now?

Not sure what happened to OR. Maybe a cupcake preseason was deceiving? They have played some decent games against good comp. Played Folsom close last week until the very end. But then they lose to average teams like DO and Rocklin. (sorry the SFL isn't very good). They had a lot of good players returning this year. Pretty disappointing actually.

@Larry, how is the SFL not very good. It’s arguably the best league in the SJS. Head to head vs the Delta league they have out played the delta league. Granite bay beat Franklin by 10 and Franklin is in 2nd place in the Delta while GB sits in 5th place behind OR. If you take away Jesuit, the SFL has beaten up the Delta. I’m not saying the Delta league isn’t better, but you saying the SFL isn’t very good is just ignorant. The SFL is easily the 2nd best league in the section and arguably as good as the delta.

You have a bad habit of blaming something else for being wrong with one of your takes. Your wrong with the statement that the SFL isn’t very good! Your also wrong when you said that Oak ridge was well coached. Just admit that you were wrong and people on this board won’t give you so much $¥it! Even Heat may take it easy on you. Lol

The SFL isn't very good. Not saying its terrible. That would be ignorant. We aren't talking about Football or Baseball. (then you got one of the best leagues in the state) I've seen every team play multiple times. Granite Bay, WC, DO, Rocklin, OR are nothing special. They just aren't. Are they bad teams? Absolutely not. A healthy Folsom beats every team in this league without a problem.

The Delta league is much stronger. If you don't think so that is ignorant. Sheldon, Jesuit, Franklin, Grant. So what Franklin lost early in the year to GB. Would they lose today?

I'm not worried about what others think nor am I trying to get my instagram account followers. People who know sports understand I'm right a lot more than I'm wrong. We have opinions. That is why its a board.
