Shady CIF vote was split 5-5 on SHP vs. Grant

The bottom line is... It sucks that because SHP won the CCS Open Div. title, they HAD TO be tied into the D-1 regional playoff game instead of CHOOSING to enter into the D-2 or D-3 regional playoff game. Ideally, it would be nice to have the absolute BEST teams represent NorCal vs. the powerhouses of SoCal. Hard to make an argument for SHP playing in the D-1 Regional game instead of either Folsom or Grant...

Grant vs SHP would be a classic at the end of the day.
 
SHP should schedule Grant next year I would be interested in watching a prove it game. It's pointless stating SHP would beat Grant and vice versa when Grant is playing in the regional against another team.

This is something that many here don't seem to understand. SHP was coming off of a D-III state title game. Playing in D-I the following year wasn't really on their radar. While they knew that by winning their league, they'd end up in the CCS Open Division, they scheduled like their were a D-III team. Believe it or not, but their non-league games were actually an upgrade from last year!
 
That would be tough for SHP next year. SHP probably wont have another BBK for a long time. He makes a huge difference on that team on offense and defense.

SHP will not be as good next year and I am an SHP supporter trust me BBK was there go to guy and without him converting on those 3rd and 5 or 4 and 3 yards to go will not be an almost automatic first down. They will take a step down from this year, but they will still be a force and a very solid team. I think their defense will struggle a little, but their passing offense will be much better because they are not losing any of their starting receivers, but their defense and running game will not be the same as this year. They also lose basically their whole secondary, which could be a big problem.
 
Grant has been looking to play CCS and NCS teams for years now. They ultimatly have to travel out of state and further south to find opponets, which for a public school is a huge finacial burden. Ask Valley Christian about Grant. Ask Amador Valley about Grant. Trust me Grant has a hard time finding opponets in Nor Cal. I dont dispute SHP season they deserve a bid in the regionals but over Grant? NO!
